The backpack is a combination nylon and mesh which will clearly last longer the first aid items (which can always be replenished). One nice feature is that the portion of the back that rest on your back is padded. Which, assuming you placed something a bit heavier in the back, would be nice on any hiking, mountain biking etc.. activities.

I gave this product five stars even though the bags is a bit small for a full 24hour back pack. My son and I are in the Civil Air Patrol and we are required to have a 24 hour pack ready for missions. After purchasing all the requried items it was tough trying to make it fit. In fact we had to leave some items out due to season. It would be nice if the bag was a little larger. Great quality though.
It's a great item to have in our car for emergencies. I love how light weight it is and can handle more items for us to carry easily in an emergency.
I purchased this kit for a college age guy who likes to travel. He loved it said it was perfect if he ever had an emergency...

This was a gift for my husband and he loved it!
Brought this for my mother in law, very lite weight, she had no problem lifting it.
