I've been taking white kidney bean extract from another company for about two months now. The flavor is a bit sour and when wet, the powder gets gummy. I decided to make my own homemade extract. It’s so time to consuming! I’m not even sure how many Canelli beans (White Kidney bean) that I harvested added up to sufficient extract. Maybe it takes 100 beans. Who knows? The taste of my concoction tasted nothing like the one I was taking. To find out the truth, I bought a Bulk Supplements bag. As it turns out this white kidney bean extract tastes almost identical to my homemade one; just more mild and with a with a finer texture that dissolves pretty quick in the month. I am 100% confident that the product is exactly what it says it is. "Pure!"
A 1000mg serving it’s equivalent to a ¼ tsp. That's enough for a meal with carbs/starches (not the same as sugars). Don’t get fooled with the snake oil marketed by other brands. This one is the real deal!
Tasty with most foods; you don't even have to encapsulate it. They used to call this stuff "Starch Blocker", and a lot of people still have that in mind. What it does is to reduce glucose spiking after meals. If you are a diabetic, try some before-and-after post-prandial blood draws. It works pretty well on me; your mileage, of course, may vary. And it goes without saying, that working with your physician is the best way to improve your health.
Awesome stuff. I sprinkle a good amount on my peanut butter on toast sandwiches. The taste takes a little getting used to, but I can attest that this supplement does exactly what it's supposed to do which is slow the breakdown of a high carb meal into glucose/glycogen so you avoid the spike in your serum glucose which causes a spike in the insulin production/release which leads to increased fat storage. If that oversimplified description is wrong please feel free to correct me. We're all here to learn.
This white kidney bean extract works as well as the pre packaged capsules available elsewhere on Amazon. But at half the cost, a no brainer! I am diabetic, and I use the white kidney bean exact (phaeseum vulgaris) to reduce sugar spikes when I eat starchy foods. A secondary benefit is that I have lost some weight too! If you're doing a large quantity at a time, I recommend a capsule filler. Or you can just take 1/2 teaspoon sprinkled in your food or drink. Easy peasy!
If I get a capsule filler, I will post pictures. Capsules ARE more convenient.
Update : 5/30/18
I still use this product and I am still satisfied. I have given up filling capsules, so, 1/2 teaspoon with each starchy meal or snack. Keeps the blood sugar from spiking and I eat quite normally!
Update 08/18
Still using the product with great results, but skipping the capsules entirely. Too much bother!
Update 4/2019
Still using ! This is excellent for us carboholics! I'm diabetic & this prevents sugar spikes when I induge in bread, pizza, etc.
first of all I would say that the product came as described and moisture level was suitable for a powder. The taste isnt bad at all. I put a small amount in a water glass and drink it like a shot. The taste is very similar to corn flakes, but I'm sure you could also put it in another type of liquid that disguised the taste. I bought this to reduce my carb intake for when i want to eat a little later at night. The price seems fair for the amount you recieve compared to the others out on the market. I've bought bulksupplements products before and recommend their brand and quality

Description
This White Kidney Bean extract is taken out at a 4:1 ratio, meaning that for every four parts of white kidney bean, one part is extracted, making this a highly concentrated solution. The white kidney bean, named after the organ bearing a similar shape, is a common bean with high saponin content.
I've used white kidney bean extract in the past, but in capsule form and they worked, but the company I ordered from stopped making them. I wanted to try another go around with them and found BulkSupplements powder and have been using this since 11/05/2018. I mainly used this before heavy carb meals and they worked for me in a way (so far) that I'm not bloated anymore after eating. All I do is take half a teaspoon in mouth and chase it down with water. It has a mildly cornflake taste to it and no nasty aftertaste. It came well packaged and sealed.
I have tried multiple brands of White Kidney bean extract throughout Amazon. I decided to give BulkSupplements a shot, considering its the best bang for the buck compared to the markup of other brands. It may sound strange to you, but I do judge white kidney bean extract by the amount of gastrointestinal issues that may arise. If I have a lot, then I know the product is quality. If I do not... then its obvious its not working as it should. I have dosed this product as high as 5-6 grams and did not receive the same gastrointestinal issues as I have other brands at a lower dose. However, I do experience some, which is why i'm rating this a 4-star. Considering how much extra raw powder you get versus capsules of other brands, the price still makes this a good deal as you get a lot for your money.
I like powders for the lack of magnesium stearate.
I used to buy pills from another company, but this is much better. I am still not a diabetic. I use this to keep from becoming a diabetic. I don't eat tons of carbs, but I have a sweet tooth, so I use this before I eat a meal with carbs and it really works. Everyone in my family is a diabetic except me. [My brothers] They don't quite get it, but my sister in law asked me to leave my package with her Christmas, and she has seen a big difference in her blood sugar levels. I try to take it 20-30 minutes before I eat carbs.
Love Bulk Supplements! This product works. I've lost 3 lbs in a week so far. Will continue to use. Highly recommend Bulk Supplements. I have bought several items from them and been happy with all of them.
