This back pain cold pack is a blessing. I have been suffering with lower back pain for the last six months. I have taken all kinds of pills to relieve the pain knowing they weren't good for me. In looking for an alternate source of relief that I didn't have to ingest I came across the Med-X Back Pain Ice Pack. This product is for you if you hate the rather uncomfortable feeling of being jabbed in the back by a hard ice pack, but find that "soft" ice packs don't stay cold long enough. The best part is, I can lay comfortably back on it OR be mobile and either way I'm icing my back. Stays cold for a super long time, and the belt is very secure but not constricting... I didn't have to readjust and it does't fall off when I move around the house.
I was trying spinal adjustment by going through a chiropractor and found that these was perfect for the lowerback/lumbar adjustments I was having done. Just freeze the pads that came with it and sit or lay in a bed and would compress the area I needed to relieve the pain.
The velcro strap with the comfortable material made it easy to keep in place even while wearing it while working graveyard shifts at a hotel from lifting stuff computer work to bringing items to guests this thing stayed in place and kept cool about an hour at a time. Just refreeze and put back on. Better than the menthol sprays that I was also trying.
I suffered with a herniated disc for 6 months before getting surgery. I had one ice pack which was wildly annoying because I’d forget to refrezze it, then it would be warm when I wanted a cold one. Then 3 months post surgery, another surgery was scheduled as my disc reherniated. I knew I’d be icing often so I ordered two more ice packs knowing I’d be icing very frequently (I’ll review the other one under it’s heading. This one is great because when I was feeling a bit better, I’d want to ice but not be stuck in bed. This solved that problem. It’s cold enough but not too cold, the Velcro has held up great. I’m a size 12 and it fits around my waist with room to spare. It’s quite comfortable. Love to wear while driving as it’s my right side the sciatica affects and constant pushing of the pedals can wreve up the pain. I like it around the house. It’s not as large or sturdy as my back brace, but just wearing it helps me remember to keep proper form -squat don’t bend, pivot don’t twist, etc. I keep the elastic waist band out of the freezer then I’d think it would be too cold, but it’s easy enough to slide in and out of its pouch but doesn’t fall out either. And for sleeping or napping I can lay on my side and still get full coverage where I need it. Would recommend to anyone who ices their lower back but does not want to spend 20 minutes lying in bed- or toddlers who ALWAYS need you to get up for something.
Not sure who this fits around but it's not me though it does the jobs and stays cold as long as I would expect it to. I would recommend. It does target the area and is comfortable. I have plenty of the larger square types which work but this seems to have more gel so it stays colder longer and also warps around niced the other dont bend to well.

The icepack that comes with this is the same medical quality as at my physical therapy clinic. Outstanding product. Works very well. I have physical therapy 2-3 times a week and this compliments my home stretch/exercise requirements.
This belt is a life saver. I have been in so much pain having spasms from pinched nerve. Put the ice pack in freezer then put it in the pouch, not too cold on your back and lasts a good 30-60 minutes for me. Once I get to work I toss the ice pack in the microwave for some heat. First day in a while I have been able to get by. Back muscles feel a lot looser now.
To the reviews saying it’s low quality, even if this did break I would still be willing to spend the money again. I might even buy a couple as backup because it is so helpful. The quality is nice to me so far, everything is holding up and couldn’t ask for more.

I am a chronic pain guy... if it isn't my lower back, it's my shoulder, or my hip... too many years of contact sports. As a result, I have tried MANY different ice pack options over the years and I have always been disappointed in some way - not this time.
The entire design of this product is super simple, no added nonsense, just pure function. The strap is super soft, no hard edges, and has a nice hook and loop pocket to hold the cooling pack. I have about a 34 inch waist and this easily fits around me with considerable room to spare. I could see using this on shoulders, back or legs.
All in all, very impressed. The cold pack seems to be very high quality as well. I would say it lasts about 20-30 minutes, which is ideal as you shouldn't ice more than 20 minutes at a time anyway.
Was anxiously waiting for this to arrive and I was not disappointed. I do a lot of lifting as part of my job and usually have some degree of back pain at the end of each shift. This arrived while I was at work and my wife had it ready for me when I got home and after just using it for the first time I can say that it worked great. I could instantly feel the relief especially in my lower back. It even helped alleviate the pain to where I slept much better. Very happy and would absolutely recommend to anyone with lower back pain issues.
The Med-X ice pack brace is perfect for my lower back pain. I've got a lot of lower body muscle pains and sciatic nerve pain and sitting on a couch or lying in bed just to hold ice packs in place is not cutting it. This allows me to work at my desk or move about and have the ice pack exactly where i need it. Also works great to wrap around the thigh when the muscles are acting up. I wish I had this years ago. The velcro has a great hold and I highly recommend this product.
