So, I spent about 2 hours researching ice packs, bags, masks, hats, etc for migraine headaches. This after using a plastic bag wrapped in a towel that leaked everywhere. Sure I could use frozen veggies, but that would ruin my veggies.
There are a few issues with using ice for migraines. Gel masks don't get cold and STAY cold. Heads are an awkward shape. You may need more than one depending on the headache.
Cold wraps are strange and uncomfortable. Bands slip. Again issue with staying cold. Need to have an ice pack that can be put over your eyeballs, temples back of neck etc. All these contraptions are a great idea, but over priced.
These little bags are cheap, various sizes, don't leak, and stay COLD. And i mean cold. These are all you need. I'm very happy with this purchase.
These are great! After buying several ice bags online and in stores that leaked, and one of them even fell apart on the first day, I was determined to try to find one that worked well. I took a gamble on ordering this set from Newstyle, and I'm glad I did. They are well made and do not leak! I've only had them a few days, but am very pleased so far!
None of them sweat (unless I forget to empty them and 6 hours later the ice has almost melted completely, but bag is still cold). One of them leaks, from the top, but not badly. I have also filled them with hot tap water and they work just as well. I took the large one on a trip - was able to get ice for cold and hot tap (or coffee maker) water for heat.
The ice bags we received are really nice. My husband had a knee replacement and these really did the trick as to keeping the knee cool to take down swelling. They are wonderfully made!!!
I've tried many ice packs, from the gel filled ones to the solid plastic kind to the cloth covered ones with elastic straps... I like the shape and varied sizes with these. You can place them directly without using a towel or cloth between. As you know many ice packs can burn the skin if placed directly on it and these don't seem to do that. My only suggestion is don't put them in the freezer with ice/water in them for longer than an hour or so because they will freeze solid. Best is to fill it with cold water, add a handful of ice cubes and pretty quickly it is at the right soothing temperature for relieving swelling. Perfect for parts that bend or where it needs to conform like the knees, elbows, head, groin, ankle.. since it kinda drapes around the area and gets more contact with the area that hurts.

NEWSTYLE Healthcare Reusable Ice Bag - The ideal must-have ice bag for every household!
Trouble with sudden headaches or joint pains? Make sure you always have one of these ice packs handy!
It's amazing for icing down headaches, sore muscles, and other knee or joint pains.
Get immediate cold therapy by just putting ice cubes or crushed ice in the bag and locking it securely.
Its superior quality material and leak-proof design makes sure that the injured area remains dry and provides you with that needed relief.
How to use:
1. To loosen and remove the cap turn it counter-clockwise.
2. Fill the ice bag two-thirds full with either cold tap water, ice water, crushed ice, or ice cubes.
Caution: Sharp edges on ice cubes may cause damage to the inner lining. Do not try to jam the ice into the bag opening.
3. Turn the cap clockwise until it is secured tightly on the ice bag.
4. Turn ice bag upside down and firmly press on the bottom to test for leakage.
5. Apply to desired area.
6. Condensation may form on the outside of the bag. Wrap the ice bag in a soft towel to protect the skin and to avoid condensation accumulation.
7. Apply ice bag for 20 to 30 minutes (maximum) at a time. Continue to reapply after injury. Wait one hour between applications.
To avoid frostbite, do not use on skin with decreased sensation or lacks proper circulation. Ask your doctor if cold therapy is recommended.
Please note: This bag is designed for ice or cold water applications. It is not a hot water bottle.Do not use with hot water above 60 degrees Celsius (140 degrees Fahrenheit)
Love these ice bags. Very well-made and was a great buy. Excellent seller!
I use the large one for my shoulder. Great.
I use the small one for more concentrated area like the ankle. I triedthe large one but the whole foot was over cold.
Yes i hurt my self due to sports, construction.
In all this is a great item. the quanity and the quality was good. Fist bag of this type ive tried.
I bought a 3 pack (6", 9", 11") set. I have only used the 9" on my knee. I had been using gel packs and frozen rice but this worked much better. Covered the knee more completely because you can manipulate the placement of the ice to get in awkward angles. Very happy with my purchase.
Pretty good. But they do sweat just a bit. Better if you don't put water in with the ice.
I really loved the 3 sizes. The large is great for migraines. It takes a bit to load the ice. I find if I preload it with ice and keep in the frig I just have to add some water and it’s ready! Sadly after a short time the large one is leaking. Can’t figure out where. Not the cap. Maybe a piece of ice punctured the liner but I can’t see it. I think crushed ice would be best. But I just have cubes.
