I'm an amputee with severe nerve damage. For some reason, icing my limb in the evenings seems to help with the pain that I have, and this product just might be the best ice pack that I've ever used. The material is durable, just holding one of these in your hands, you can feel the difference between this pack and the other inexpensive ones. The pack stays ice cold for roughly 30 minutes, but that might vary from user to user, and 30 minutes is enough time to bring me some great relief. These seem to freeze up pretty quickly, I'd estimate roughly an hour before it's ready to be used again. I've tried several products, but this one seems to be the very best I've used to date. It's nice to have the ability to directly place the product and keep it there with the included straps, which are quite durable. If you use an ice pack product on a daily basis, something like this would be right up your alley. I'd recommend it without reservation and would easily purchase it again.
So far I have only used this for cold therapy on my lower back and hip. It has worked really well in relieving pain. It stays cold for about 15 to 20 minutes. Because it does relief pain, at times I wish it would stay colder longer. But then I remind myself that my physical therapist said that I should only ice for 10 to 15 minutes at a time and not longer. So I suspect this product is designed for that purpose. So no real complaints. I would recommend this gel pack to anyone looking for a means of administering cold therapy.
I have been using this to ice the outside of my ankle joint after years of using bags of ice and other gel pads for the same purpose. I really like how the 3 compartments fold to give better contact on the ankle and how the velcro straps STRECH so that I can put it in awkward positions and the straps can be used to hold it in place regardless.
The only thing I don't like is that it starts out very cold...but after 20 minutes it loses most of it's cold...this is not a defect...it is designed to be kept on 20 minutes...but I like to go longed. Will have to get a second one! :D
Update...got a second one for the other ankle and knee....excellent product that conforms to the joins, stays in place...I walk around with it on my ankle... and holds up over time. Get one...you won't be disappointed
This ice pack does keep the cold for a very long time. My other observation is that when taken out of the freezer it is not as pliable as another ice pack that I have. It is good for a flat surface but I do shape it around a cylinder if I am using it for a wrist, for example. But it is a good value for the money.
This is , by far, the most effective cold pack I have bought. I have a bad back and hip area that likes responds well to cold therapy. I have used small packs that fall out, bigger packs that would hold on or cover the area or packs that just don't get and stay cold enough for that critical 20 minutes. This one does the job. Has ample length tie securely so it doesn't fall off and it's comfortable. Well done.

So I ordered it and without inspecting it i tossed it in my freezer and threw away the box and items it came with. 2 hours in the freezer took it out and noticed the gel on two area was very minimal in comparison. I out it on and due to those areas the pack stayed cool for less than 10 minutes. I tried pushing the gel but did not work. I contacted the company and they immediately sent a replacement for me. I am thankful they are very about customer service. I like the pack but its not the coldest...sorry guys but still does a fine job.
It works great. The gel packs in it kept cold for over 6 hours. With the adjustable strap you can use it pretty much anywhere on your body. The water bottles they make also keep water cold for a really long time. Great customer service as well.
I am 3 weeks pre op for shoulder surgery and even the ice packs given to me from physical therapy do not compare with this one
The ice pack is COLD, LONG, WIDE, and the Velcro strap fits nicely around my upper torso.

Really good product. The only thing I don't like about it is that it has this frost on the outside after freezing and starts to drip when it begins to thaw out. Other than that, it does the job and will stay cold for about 20-30 minutes.
This is truly a great ice pack. I have not used it for hot therapy so far, but I highly recommend this product for one simple reason - the velcro straps. The ability to strap down the icepack is far superior to other ice packs I own. Finally an easy way to keep the ice pack in place. You get about a 20 minute therapy from a frozen pack.
update 5-10-2019
Unfortunately the ice pack developed a small leak. I contacted Coldest Water via email on Sunday to report the problem. Within hours the owner replied, apologized for the problem and made arrangements for a replacement, which shipped Monday morning. Two days later I had the replacement ice pack. These days it is hard to find such dedicated customer service. If you think about buying from this company - do so with great confidence of product support and a company standing behind their products.
