With Lyme disease I have a lot of aches and pains....this one little devise works wonders to calm the sore muscles and tendons . I have been using the UTK Jade mat for many months now and would not be without. Any sleepless night...all I have to do is lay on the pad for about 15-30 minutes and I am out like a light. You are so relaxed it is almost impossible to stay awake . With the purchase of this smaller mat will be "sandwiching" myself between the two pads and maybe do a little "bug" killing. The heat is comfortable...very warm and penetrating...not harsh at all like "traditional" heating pads. I've only just received this pad... and gave it a quick try out...and wanted to share what a great purchase this is...might even be better for some recliners than the larger mats....in my opinion.

I received an email from UTK making me aware of a promotion on their small far infrared heating pad. Since my old, small far infrared pad (manufactured by another company) was getting quite worn, I was eager to get the small UTK one.
As you can see from the picture, it fits nicely in the seat of my chair. This one allows me to better control the temperature and I can program it to stay on from 15 minutes to 4 hours. The far infrared heat helps relieve my sciatica.
It appears to be made of more durable material than my old, small one and I expect I will get many years of use and relief from it.
This is a great infrared heating pad. I have tried many other infrared heating pad and this one has worked the best for me. this is by far the most comfortable heating pad to use and to sleep on. It is not rigid and conforms to the body. With this pad you have the ability to wrap it around a the the body part that is hurting such as a knee or elbow. It also works great for neck, shoulder and lower back pain. Unlike regular heating pads which can feel uncomfortable at a higher heat, this one can be turned up very high and it is very soothing. The great thing about this pad is that it can be rolled up to store and is light weight. Great product--I could not be more pleased.
After purchasing the Medium UTK Jade Heating Pad for myself a few months ago, I was so impressed and surprised at how different the heat felt from so many regular heating pads, that I decided to purchase the Small UTK Jade+Tourmaline Heating Pad for my girlfriend so that we could compare the difference.

I purchased this product because a friend of mine said her mother uses one and it helps control pain. I was in a car accident two years ago that has left me with chronic lower back pain and sciatica. I've been seeing a physical therapist and using muscle relaxers and pain killers to control my pain. I had never heard of infrared heating pads before and was excited to see if this product would work for me and reduce my dependance on medications as well as my monthly expense to see a physical therapist. I'm very happy to say that the pad works as described. I've been using it at home (I plan on taking it to work as well. It comes with a handy travel bag) and noticed a difference immediately after my first use. Also, the original pad I ordered had a problem with the controller. I contacted UTK and they were awesome! They sent out a replacement within a matter of days. Manufacturing defects happen but great customer service is rare. Thank you UTK for being so great and easy to work with!
This is the second far infrared stone pad that I have bought from UTK and I am very happy with its performance. The stones are a little hard but they hold the heat and really seem to penetrate aches well. I use this almost every night because I have Raynauds phenomenal in my hands and it keeps my core temperature high in my hands warm so that I get good circulation. Much better than the electric heating pad from the store.
I have fibromyalgia and hip/tailbone issues. This heating pad is AMAZING! So worth the money! The heat penetrates deep and it doesn't get uncomfortable and burn your skin like other heating pads. I always burned myself trying to get the heat to go deeper by turning it higher, but it just hit the surface and did nothing. This is a really large pad, covers my rump to shoulder blades, and I can lay on it without issue or it getting too hot. I can't live without it now.
I really like this heating pad. I like that it is sturdy, that I can lay on it, it is big, and I can control the heat by degree not low medium and high. It has a great bag to store or transport it in. I feel like it should hold up for a long time even with a lot of use.
I don't like that the power cord has a big bulky thing on the pad that it plugs into. It is quite heavy and bulky, I can't see it conforming to a body very well and it hurts my painful hands to have to reposition. But overall it is awesome and the pros do outweigh the cons.
I use this pad almost daily to help with my chronic back pain and love it. Unlike most heating pads, I am able to lean against it in my chair and it stays on for four hours at a time. After about 10 months I had a problem with the cord beginning to pull out of the connector which connects the control to the pad. I contacted the seller, received an immediate response and replacement of the control. I would not hesitate to buy this product again.
