ARRIS Electric USB Heated Eye Mask with 5 Temperature Control Warm Therapeutic Treatment for Relieving Insomnia, Dry Eye, Blepharitis, Meibomian Gland Disease Pink

I suffer from migraine headaches as well as dry eyes after PRK eye surgery. I am also blessed with insomnia. Most of these are from years of service in the Army. I was skeptical of this product at first. Honestly, it just sounds silly. A heating pad for your eyes. Ha. Ok but then I tried it! I wake up early every morning and do about 20 minutes of meditation prior to starting my day. Now, I am incorporating this product in my meditation. It helps to relax, helps to channel your calm. When I am having a headache, I can find a quiet spot, put on the mask and, using a USB power-bank, sooth my pain just about anywhere. At night, if I am having trouble sleeping, I will slip on the mask, let it get nice and warm and just relax. It's a really good way to get in the sleep zone. The strap fits me fine, I wear a 7 3/8" hat size. Much more than that and it might start to get a little snug. It covers the eyes and blocks out all light. If I don't situate it properly, light will leak in from the bottom but it isn't a lot and its easy to reposition the mask and carry on. The translation on the instructions wasn't the best but it isn't a complicated item so it doesn't really matter. Besides that, the instructions were good enough to get the point across.
Operation seriously couldn't be any easier. Plug the USB cord into a 5v USB outlet, press the power button, adjust the temperature, adjust the timer, relax and enjoy. The timer goes in increments of 10 minutes up to one hour. The temperature setting is 1-5.
I am really happy with this mask. I would definitely recommend it if you have headaches that originate around the eyes or if you have trouble relaxing. This is where the mask helps me the most.
I am not associated with the seller, manufacturer, or anyone else involved with this product. I am just a dude that likes to make movies and do reviews. Thanks, I hope you find this helpful when deciding if this product will work for you!

The instructions say not to use if it is wet or damp. My dry-eye condition seems to benefit most from moist heat. This might sound a little crazy but I found a perfect work-around for this problem. I place a panty liner over the part that goes against your face and spritz that real good. The fabric remains completely dry, my eyes get the moist heat and the added padding seems to make better connection with my eyelids too. The head is more than adequate to heat up the panty liner on setting 5. Very pleased with this purchase it gets nice and hot.

Those with blepharitis and MGD considering this for travel use should be aware that the hottest setting is only 50-55 degrees. This should be stated in the product description. That temp is really not hot enough for unclogging the meiobian glands. Others have commented on the strap being too short. They are correct, and I have a small face. The only way to get the mask against your eyes is to forget the strap and hold it against your eyes.

UPDATE:9/27/18 - the distributor contacted me and sent me a new mask. On this one the temperature does heat up adequately so I wanted to provide this update. With any of these usb masks, if your purpose is to use it for MGD, it seems to be necessary to hold the mask against the eyes with your hands in order to ensure that it makes adequate contact with the eyelids to heat the glands.

This eye mask was better than expected. The materials were soft and comfortable. Plenty of heat produced on a low setting of just 2 and the mask heated up fairly quickly. A timer can be set up to 30 minutes so no need to worry falling asleep with the mask on. The controls were easy to use, instructions are not needed. You will need a USB power source as a wall adapter is not provided. I used my phone charger and that worked perfectly. I wish the cord could plug into either side of the mask, but I guess this might be a little too picky. Overall I like it!

Really happy with this item. The heat is well distributed across the eye area. The fabric is so soft, and I really like the way they extended the fabric over the ears. That seems to add stability to help it stay on better when laying down. The pillow tended to dislodge my old eye mask, and this stays in place much better. Good sturdy elastic in the back also helps it feel secure.

What a great idea to use universal USB for the power connector. I don't have a power pack, and I don't intend to buy one since portability isn't important to me for this. I probably wouldn't use when walking around anyway. After all it's whole purpose is to cover the eyes. :-) But its great to know that's an option for someone who might use it away from an outlet, and let the buyer decide how long the device can be heated. If the buyer wants longer heat, then buy a bigger power pack.

**Suggestion to manufacturer** Please consider making a heated earmuff for the winter using the same fabrics but with thick insulation since it would be for cold environments, and some weatherproofing since it could get wet if used outside. Your universal USB power controller/connector cable with an optional rechargeable power pack is perfect for such a product, and would be so much better than the earmuffs that use simple hot packs inserted into small pockets. How nice to be able to regulate the heat if the temperature fluctuates, and you could use a car adapter in the car. Great for really cold days when the car heat is all being directed at the windshield! And the ability to use a power pack would be great for people who work outside. Users could keep extra power packs in a pocket and change out as needed. I'll bet you would sell millions in the cold climates.

I absolutely love this heating eye mask. Since receiving it, I have been using it every day for varying amounts of time. I found it be very relaxing in general, and it was also very soothing when I used it to help relieve a headache. The outer material is very soft and the pink color is very cute!
The mask fits me very well. It has an elastic band which allows for some stretch. The inner material is comfortable on my face. I even fell asleep with it on, which is saying a lot as I can only fall asleep under ideal conditions for me, and have never been able to sleep with an eye mask on.

It heats up very quickly and has 5 heat settings. I like to have it on the max setting and then lower it if it starts to feel too warm for me. It has a timer, and you can set the timer in increments of 10 minutes, ranging from 10 minutes to 1 hour and then the mask will turn off. This is great because you will never have to worry about falling asleep with it on. I found the cord to be plenty long enough for me to use while laying in bed. I sleep on my side and was able to face either direction comfortably while wearing the mask. The cord measures just under 6 feet long and has a USB connector. A power adapter is not included, which wasn't a big deal for me as I have several already.

Overall, this is a great product, and I am very happy with it. It's become a part of my nightly routine and definitely helps me to relax before
bed!

I ordered the eye mask for myself and it so happened the day I received it my wife had a terrible headache from being woke up multiple times overnight by our 2 year-old. Needless to say she was excited to see the results and if the eye mask could help with the headache. Within a short time, my wife told me that the heat was helping her relax and the headache was subsiding.
I used the mask the next day while on a break at work (I work from home so my co-workers cannot poke fun at me about this). I work on computer screens all day so, you can imagine my eyes are tired throughout the day, not to mention the period headaches. Anyway, while on a 15 minute break I plugged the eye patch into a USB port on my computer, set the timer for 10 minutes on the medium head and wow! I cannot believe how much better I felt at the end of my break. Not only did the eye patch block out all light in the room, but the warmth just relaxed all the muscles around my eyes. I felt recharged and ready to take on the next segment of my shift.
I really found the USB connection very convenient, as I can use my phone charging block, my computer at my desk, or a power pack (this it what I used in bed) to power the eye patch. This feature has the added convenience of making the eye mask easy to travel with and use even in the car.
I would definitely recommend this to my family and friends, or anyone who wants to get away from the microwave gel eye masks. The material is soft and comfortable, the wire can be removed to be used as just a “blackout” mask as well.

I've been using this mask for the past two weeks, and I very much enjoy this versatile mask. The mask's headband is designed for someone with a much smaller head than me - I had some Velcro One Wrap laying around, and it worked as a nice extender to the hook-and-loop closure on the elastic band. I primarily use the eye mask at night along with my CPAP mask - the eye mask makes everything feel a bit more comfortable. It's getting colder and colder, and the heated mask keeps my upper face nice and warm until I go to sleep. The mask doesn't come with a USB power brick, but my power strip I use to power my CPAP mask has USB ports, and with a simple USB extender the cord reaches just fine. The mask was a bit stiff at first, but after a couple nights the mask "broke in" and is more comfortable on my face now.

I've tried the different levels of heat, and I found my sweet spot at level 3. I guess if it was summer time I'd get the "hot steam" effect but here in the winter it's just uncomfortable any hotter than level 3. It's not that it's "hot" per se, it's just uncomfortable given the pressure points on my face and how it seems to get warm around the bony areas more than others. Perhaps if I adjusted it differently I'd find a better position, but I like it at level 3.

I also use the mask for other purposes, too. This weekend I used the mask as a simple LiPo battery warmer; LiPo batteries don't operate as well when they get cold, so I use an external battery pack (like one used to recharge a phone or tablet) to power the eye mask and place the mask in the fire-proof charging bag with my batteries; it keeps my batteries warm long enough for me to use them when flying my quad (drone). So nice!

So, overall, the mask is a nice heated mask. It has a lot of varied uses, and I might consider getting another one. I'm looking forward to using it on the plane when I travel next month, maybe I'll update this review afterwards.

I've been suffering from a Chalazion for at least 4 months. I was using a microwavable gel pack at least once daily, certainly not enough. It's gone through several phases of getting better then worse and I was ready to make a doctor appointment. But before I did I decided that I was going to be more diligent about the treatments to see if I could make it go away on my own. It's just difficult for me to wait several minutes for the gel pack to heat up then have to lay stationary for 15 minutes holding it in place, I have more important things to do.

To attempt to make my life easier I decided to give this a try. I received it yesterday and tried it before bed. My initial impression of the highest setting was that it didn't seem quite warm enough to be effective but I really don't know what the optimal temperature for treatment is supposed to be. I do agree with some of the other reviewers in that it does not maintain contact with the skin without intervention, I found pinching the top of my nose did the trick. But I decided to just try it as it was for 30 minutes, falling asleep with it on. I woke up twice in the middle of the night and restarted the timer to 30 minutes.

When I woke this morning I couldn't believe it but my eyelid was much less swollen than the previous day. It almost looks normal and certainly the best it has in at least a month. I'm cautiously optimistic about this actually getting rid of the Chalazion completely.

I will attempt to check back and update but based on my experience so far this deserves a solid 4 stars. It's very comfortable, extremely soft material, and blocks out all light. I had to adjust it to the tightest setting and probably would have made it a bit more snug if I could. It is a rather large mask and I would prefer it to be a bit smaller but perhaps the size would also make it easy to treat other body parts that could benefit from warmth (maybe a sprained ankle.)

20190207 Update (Almost 3 weeks later)
This mask has saved me so much time!
I've been firing it up every night before bed, I usually wake once or twice and turn it back on so getting 2-3 sessions a day. The results are truly amazing. The Chalazion is practically gone. I'm no longer considering seeing a specialist. Even if it completely goes away I'm going to keep using the mask as it feels great. Bumping to 5 stars from 4, the loose fit does not seem to be an issue at all based on my results.

I got this for my mom as she has dry eyes from her chemo therapy. I of course made sure it was going to work when it arrived. ;);)
My eyes are fine, but its great as i have trouble getting to sleep at night and this thing magically makes my eyes super exhausted after just a few minutes on low heat. Be careful as it dose get quite warm of high heat and it made my eyes hurt. Thats said its super comfy and soft and it dose block out the light. It would be great on a plane and fighting jet lag. Its also winter and it makes a great head warmer.
