I suffered from a chronic rotator cuff injury from tennis. I have used different shoulder ice packs over the years and I wasn't fully happy with any one of them. They either don't fit well or doesn't stay cold in my treatment area. The Thermopeutic pack however is the best one hands down. The gel pack covers the entire rotator cuff and it stays cold for over 30 minutes. The only thing that can be improved is the arm strap is a little long. Not a big deal as you can just wrap it around your arm. Lastly I'm 6'3 if anyone reading this is wondering.
I got this for applying cold therapy following rotator cuff surgery. This product includes a 13-compartment gel pack with plastic slots for attaching velcro straps, two velcro straps, and a fabric pocket that holds he gelpack and provides a layer of insulation. Amazon prime price was $29.95. Ordered on Thursday night and it arrived the following Tuesday. All the pieces appear to be high quality. The gel pack is made up of 13 separate compartments that make it easy to get a snug fit around the shoulder, and the gel remains soft and pliable when frozen. Because the attachments for the velcro are part of the gelpack and not the insulating pocket, the gelpack won't slide slide around, plus it could be used without the insulating pocket, in desired. The gelpack is pretty heavy and stays cold a very long time.
Right now, I am highly satisfied with this purchase.

I was recommended to use this for my shoulder chronic pain. It helps soothing my shoulder tightness and pain for sleeping sideway. I constantly need to get body massage and now I can use this compression wrap for a temporary relief at home.
The heated pad is too big for my microwave. I don't know how it will do in other microwaves, but it heats very uneven and is unusable in mine - hot on the edges and cold in the middle of the pad. Therefore, I resort to heating it in hot water and this is a hassle, because the water has to be heated, the pad taken out of the outer part, and has to be submerged and left in the hot water for at least 5 minutes. Then it has to be dried on both sides and refitted into the outer. Then the straps have to be fitted and adjusted. This takes at least 12 - 15 minutes to prepare. It stays warm for up to an hour when inside the house. I'm a woman and my shoulder is about size 6 (maybe 4? ) at the moment. It can be adjusted to fit my size, but the fit is a bit hard and not so good as it would be for a bigger shoulder. However, it does its job and is really nice to have.
Update: I used a large and real good microwave. I microwaved it only 40 seconds in stead of the recommended initial 90 seconds. It was too hot on the sides, cool inside, uneven and popped open some of the liquid.
I did not expect this level of quality and attention to detail at its price point. all parts are very neatly and carefully assembled. no sharp corners anywhere, the outer bag is finished in a almost felt like material that's very soft. The liquid pack is made with pretty thick and solid material but the finish is smooth to the touch. It came with a semi transparent zip-lock style storage bag that's also very smooth to the touch. The pad is pretty big, so unless you are twice the size of normal people or above this should fit just fine.

After reading other reviews I am so glad I purchased this product. I had tried others that didn't work well at all. To my surprise this compression pack actually works and rather well. The hot/cold pack seems to be made of a thicker material than others. I like how it fully covers my shoulder. It stays in place without me having to adjust it and hold it with my other hand. The price did not break the bank. I like that they actually have tutorial videos on their website to help a new user use the product. Bonus was the lifetime warranty which shows they stand behind their product. So far so good and I believe this product will last longer than a few months. I have only used it as cold only for a torn rotator cuff. But I would but this again without hesitation.
Even though I'm modeling the icepack, my wife is actually the user. We bought it a month before shoulder surgery and she started using it for icing purposes but can be used for heating the shoulder as well. It's been a month after surgery and she still uses it a few times a day during recovery. She even used it the day of surgery. Awesome product. Fits very well. She can put it on herself. We freeze it right in the outside cover. No harm. I would highly recommend this product with anyone with shoulder problems. Once my wife is healed, we are passing the shoulder icepack down to our grandson because he plays baseball and pitches a lot. This will be a great product to use after he pitches. We had it for 2 months and it's highly recommended.
So far I have only used this product for cold and I like it! It's easy to use, fairly self explanatory. I like the adjustable straps. Sometimes feel I need more pressure than others so that is convenient. Great that I can do it myself!
While I appreciate that this can also be used for hot I don't know that I will use it for that right now. The accompanying materials recommend not using it from one extreme to the other but with the number of times will need it per day I can't keep bringing it to room temperature between each use, hot or cold, before going to the other. I understand the reasoning behind it, just not convenient to my situation at this time.
I bought this for my dad and He LOVES it . It helps released the pain from his shoulder. I also used it several times and I agreed with him. The pad is quite useful. I am very happy with the Thermopeutic’s original multi purpose hot and cold pack. I can say that this shoulder pack has continue to live up to the brand’s quality standard. I have chronic shoulder pain from tennis and gym. Have tried 2 other shoulder packs from Amazon that always had fit issue or not enough gel to stay cold. This shoulder pack solved both issues! It comes with a very large gel pack that will easy stay ice cold for 30 minutes or longer. The wrap itself is made out of good material along with very long straps that you can wrap around your arm and chest. Another thing to note there is no strange herbal smell when you heat it up!!!
