Ordered after I saw my massage therapist with one. I would go as far as to say this is a life-changing product. My only note is while the directions say it can be warmed directly from freezer storage, it does not get as warm as I would like with the standard 2 minute microwaving time. To avoid damaging the product, I've resolved this by removing it from the freezer ~30 minutes before putting it in the microwave for heat therapy. I thought about putting it in the microwave for a longer time, but since that is not mentioned in the directions, and I want to keep this in tip-top shape, I figured letting it get closer to room temperature before microwaving is a sustainable solution.
I've used it cold on swollen and tender pectorals after an especially intense massage therapy session. After chugging water and wearing the shoulder wrap frontwards and backwards until it reached room temperature, my muscles were no longer "angry." Overall I am very pleased with my neck and shoulder wrap--it has exceptional quality and I would go even further and say it is not only physically therapeutic but mentally therapeutic as well.
I've taken to using it for heat therapy every night before bed--being sure to have a layer of clothing between the wrap and my bare skin. It's like a lullaby for my muscles and allows me to let go of the day, focus on the comfort, and gently slip into a wonderful night's sleep.
I am so happy I finally found something to help my neck and shoulders. This gets so warm in the microwave and stays warm about 15-20 minutes. It is great for very tense or stiff muscles. Another great benefit to this product is that it is weighted so I do not have to hold it down. I love being able to use this in the morning when my neck and shoulders are really stiff and I also love using it at night before bed. I love being able to walk around with it also.
I have struggled with Tension/Migraine headaches that make my neck and shoulders hurt. Even when I don't have head pain, I often have a sore neck from tension. This Heating Pad is perfect for my needs because I can walk around with it. I have used an electric heating pad, which works great, but I am stuck on the sofa. I can heat this heating pad for 2 minutes in my microwave and it stays warm for at least 30 minutes. I also like that it is somewhat heavy, which helps relieve tension. This is a quality product, that I plan on using for a long time.
This heating pad is well made. It fits nicely over my shoulders and yields soothing heat directly to the problem muscles. It is tightly packed, divided into sewn "ribs" to keep the heated filler in place. I have made microwave heating pads at home, but the filler always shifts and sags, leaving me with spotty heating or worse yet, they slither off my shoulders and drop to the floor like a dead snake. This product stays put and keeps the heat right on the muscles that need it. Now our cat says she wants one...
After searching for a product that would help the crick and tension in my neck, I ran across "my heating pad-neck & shoulder wrap." I didn't want a product that I didn't have to plug in, didn't have a scent and one that I could use hot or cold. This fit the bill. I also like the way it's shaped to fit on your neck and shoulder making it easy to target the area I needed. When I first opened the package it thought it was too heavy but that's not the case because when it's heated it feels "cozy" on. And it couldn't be easier to use. Pop it in the microwave for about 2 minutes and presto..it's heated. Although, the first time it's heated I did smell a teeny tiny "cooked" smell but it dissipated very quickly. Other than that it is fragrance free. According to the instructions, you need to keep it in the freezer when not in use which is great for me because I put it on to get the cold affect right away. I also think that the cold and heat "stay put" for an adequate amount of time. I bought a heating pad from this company last week. It was so good that I turned around and bought another one because my fiance found it, tried it, and said that it really helped relieve some of his neck/shoulder pain. Heat therapy feels good and helps me relax. Who doesn't want to feel better and relax? I can buy my own essential oils and rub them on. Microwave for 2 minutes, and instantly unwind from the day. Can't recommend this enough. Also, the product has a good amount of weight to it so it settles into your neck and shoulders to release that heat. Can't design a better product even if I tried. I got this for my husband who often has a sore neck from his work. While he does like it-especially the shape as it fits your neck well-it is a little tricky to get to a good temp. It also doesn't hold the heat real long. it comes with directions on how to heat it up but because of it's size you have to kind of squish it into the microwave if you have a small one. I head it for about half the time as directed, take it out and try to shift the filling a bit, then put it back in the microwave for the second half of the time. That seems to work pretty well, but I would be concerned about stronger microwaves burning the filling if you weren't paying attention when you nuke it.
I use this daily. It helps relax my shoulders and warm me. I heat it for 2 minutes on high in my microwave. It is pretty hot, but I like it hot. I use it over clothing or it can be too hot on bare skin when first heated. It doesn't stay hot for a long enough time for me, but I like heat. It is easy to rewarm in the microwave. I really enjoy it and keep multiples to share with my husband. I have different sizes of microwave heating pads.
Works great, but has a weird smell. I wish that whatever they put inside of this would smell like rosemary, mint, lavender or some other nice smelling herb. It kinda smell like RICE or BEANS. It is very comfortable and stays warm/hot for at least 30 min. depending on how long you heat it for. I have added some essential oils to the seams to make it smell better!
This is the perfect wrap for my upper back and shoulders. I've been needing a heating pad that would conform to my shoulder area as well as be used to apply heat to my upper back. Because this is so simply made (fabric filled with rice), it's very versatile. I can lay on it or just rest it on my shoulders/upper back. I don't have to deal with cords or worrying that I'll damage it by laying on it. I don't have to hold it in place at all while sitting up. I LOVE it.
