I am happy that this ice pack is my fourth Comfort Gel Pack. my neck, occipital area, shoulders and upper back is thanking Core Products immensely. i highly recomend these to anyone suffering with these and many other consitions: chronic migraines, Occipital Neuralgia, herniated discs, arthritis. dystonia: the disorder that makes patients stiff and tremor (what makes Parkinson's patients shake immensely) the heavy weight of the product and ice coldness provides some relief for my chronic pain and stiffness. It freezes up in a few hours which is nice. so now I have a second one and am able to rotate them for use more often. this is one happy customer. thank you!

I recently bought two sizes of these packs because my doctor recommended using them while I'm under treatment for bad discs. I especially love these because they are flexible even while frozen. Amazing. That means that you can conform the pack to any location of body part. And they stay cold for a long time. I haven't used them as a hot pack yet, but nice to know you can stick them in the microwave and use them that way if necessary. There was only one problem I experienced with these. I bought sizes larger than the one provided by my doctor, I should have been more careful when ordering! If I had something to put them in that would help them keep their shape while in use, there wouldn't be a problem. I'm currently looking for a zipper bag about the same size that would suit this need. If you wrap it in a towel, etc., eventually the inside gel tends to move to the bottom of the pack, instead of remaining diffused throughout the entire pack. If you wanted to use it on a shoulder, for example, eventually the gel would move to both ends of the pack and the portion covering the top of the shoulder would not have any cooling gel in it. So you'd have to get creative, depending on your use/need. Still, a great pack! I'm happy I have these and hope they last a long time.
This is the GEL PACK you want to get.. very full of Gel.. EXACTLY what I was looking for... hard to find this type of ice pack..!!
SUGGESTION TO MAKE IT LAST AWHILE: Before using it TAPE IT UP good with big CLEAR TAPE.. and then BUY a: "TIDE WASH BAG" (zips up).. it will be just like a pillow case. // The Grandkids love to go to sleep with this to keep them cool.. its a nightly habit. Make sure you keep this flat at all times.. so the outside plastic doesn't get more wear-and-tear than it needs to get.. and it should last you a long time. // This is the Gel Pack to get.. Ive tried others like the one by ICEWRAPS which was this one ==>>: "10 X 12 Large Gel Ice Pack Wrap, Reusable Hot Cold Pack ICEWRAPS" .. that ice pack has very good quality on the outside plastic-- but the Gel is super thin-- very little gel inside (!) .. it's like dental floss. The company "IceWraps" seems like a good company-- in that when I gave them feedback about this-- they quickly emailed me back and apologized & said they will listen to my feedback,etc..--- so I hope that IceWraps puts more gel inside their 10x12 Large Gel Ice Pack Wrap in the future--- just like this one. Since IceWraps has a better quality outside plastic they could charge a little more than this one IF they'd just fill-up the icepack more like this(!)
I broke my kneecap and had to have surgery, so have spent the last 4 months icing my leg every day in order to get the swelling down. At first I didn't have an ice pack so was just using ice cubes in a bag but this wasn't working too well.
I ordered this pack and it is perfect. The size is great, it's wraps around my knee to cover the sides as well as the actual kneecap.
It doesn't take long to freeze - after a couple of hours the gel is definitely cold enough to ice well.
I do notice that sometimes the pack is a bit solid when left in the freezer for a longer period of time, but if you leave it out for a couple of minutes it softens but does not warm up. Alternatively, you can just mould it around your body part - even when solid, it is still possible to bend it around a knee or wherever else you may need it.
I read that some people had trouble with it being too warm after a few minutes of using it, but I have never had this problem.
I tend to ice my knee for 20 minutes at a time, and it is just as cold at the end as it was at the start.
It also does not take long at all to re-freeze for a second use.

My daughter has scoliosis and experiences terrible back pain. These "back ice packs" were absolutely perfect for her. We place these packs in a soft baby pillow case for more comfort against her back. When she gets up in the morning, these gel packs are still quite cool. I would very high recommend these gel packs.

This gel pack is a great size fir your shoulder, arm, knee, ankle, back and neck. It freezes in about 2 hours but does not get rock hard. It is still pliable. I place it between a towel folded I half to protect my skin from contact with the pack. I bend it as needed to wrap around the area. It seems to stay cold for over 2 hours. I store mine in the freezer in a large plastic bag to protect it and keep any odors from it.
I have purchased several of these in different sizes. Two in this size.
I purchased this one for my mother who is having shoulder problems. She had been making ice packs. She is so happy with this as it is so much easier for her and so much more comfortable. No sharp points or melting ice to deal with. It is so much more convenient for her.
Everyone should have a ice pack in their freezer
I bought two of these last year thinking they were the smaller version, obviously I didn't look at the dimensions. When I got them I thought I wouldn't use them much because they are so large...boy was I wrong. Gave one to the boyfriend for his lower back. He's used this more times than I can count! My kids have used it for sprained ankles, sore knees and i've used it on my shoulders and back as well. It's truly a large gel pack but it has come in more than handy over the last year! I love the gel consistency, which is way more comfortable than a normal ice pack. We used it on a few fishing trips too in our beverage cooler and it worked pretty slick! It does have some weight to it so if you use it in a cooler or put it on a body part, just be aware that it's not light, but the thickness of it helps keep it cold longer. Even though it wasn't what I thought when buying it, I would buy them again. Great versitile use! Stays cold a long time.
These are great. I bought two. One to keep in the freezer where it stays and another I keep out to be heated with the microwave. The pack heats quickly and holds the heat well, at least fifteen minutes which is the time my physical therapist recommends leaving it on for. Repeated heating throughout several days during an episode with a pulled muscle appeared to not have any negative impact on the pack. The pack I keep in the freezer stays fairly flexible. It easily molds over a shoulder or around a knee. I'm please with the purchase.
I have had chronic back pain for 20 years and ice every day. I prefer an ice pack that gets very cold. Over the years people have trended toward a flexible ice pack. This one freezes hard if your freezer is cold enough, and lasts a long time. It is advertised as staying flexible and I am sure it does if you don't keep your freezer as low as I do. But, it can freeze hard too, if anyone else out there is looking for that. I usually use Cold Pac's as my go to ice pack but I will definitely keep a couple of these around too. Good price as well. I have had this for a couple of months now. No broken seams yet.
I don't know if I got a different version of this item. Someone mentioned it had straps and a sleeve or something?
For me the packaging only included the plastic bag with gel inside and nothing else. Not that I really needed anything else. Left in the freezer overnight so I could start my therapy in the morning for my lower back.
You have to find the perfect cover for it between the gel and your body, wether it's a towel, blanket or whatever, make sure that in the end the temperature is right for you, sometimes I use a thicker cover and the cold doesn't reach very well.
I followed the instructions for using it as hot therapy (put in the microwave for 60 seconds on a 800w one). My microwave is 1000w and it took considerably longer than that for it to get hot enough and the temperature was uneven (the bottom was colder) so maybe it's a good idea to do half the time on one side and then the other. When I finally got it as warm as I needed it, it was perfect!
No real complains, if you're thinking about it, get it. It's worth it!
