Excellent product. I have to crush medication several times throughout the day and night for my husband who suffered a severe stroke. The first few months I used a manual twist type crusher and developed severe tendinitis in both arms. I couldn't even turn a door knob. No one else is around to help, so I purchased this crusher and bags that I seen used at nursing homes. It took months for my elbows to heal, but I was able to continue to care for my husband's medicine needs thanks to this wonderful product. I had to spray wd40 on crusher as it squeaked so load though. I laughed and made a video about the noisy squeaky silent night, but it saved my arms permanent damage.
Note though that there are no returns if defective. This is why I tried the wd40 to try and fix it myself. I had no options.
These work great. I got the Silent Knight Pill Crusher because I have to crush all of my husband's medications to go through his feeding tube. These are good quality and I can crush quite a few pills at once. Since I need to add water to the crushed pills, I use the plastic pouch to fill with warm water to add to the crushed pills. This way, I'm able to make sure I've gotten all the medication out of the plastic pouch and into the cup to pour into his feeding tube.
Investing in a Silent Knight Pill Crusher and these pouches, will make crushing and administering meds a fast process. You can crush the pills in the pouch, add a little water, fold over the top of the bag and shake it, and very quickly have liquid medication for feeding tubes, etc. The med. doesn't stick to the inside of the pouches so you don't lose any of your medication. I strongly recommend these bags. One of the hospitals we were in used this system, and we could see how efficient it was, so when we went home, we got the crusher and the pouches. If you administer a lot of meds, I consider this a necessity. It leaves more time for caring for the patient.
Very sturdy plastic that doesn't tear easily when pills are crushed. Can be used with hammer, vice-grip pliers, etc. but works best with the Medline Silent Knight pill crusher. (A separate item. Also sold by Amazon)
For a recent vacation, I pre-crushed my meds, taped the Medline packages shut with one piece of scotch tape, folding under a piece on the end. I marked each package as "Friday morning, Friday night, etc". I put all the packages in a zip lock bag.
Much easier than taking along the Silent Knight Crusher.
Love this product. My mother who had a stroke & must have everything through a feeding tube & this made my life much easier. I use to struggle with those little pill crushers. Now my mother's pills are crushed in less than a minute. I have done as many as 12 at a time & its quick an easy. More pills can be done at one time if pills are small. If larger pills are involved than you might have to divide pills. Still quick. Well worth the price & saves you time and energy.

These worked out well for crushing mom's meds. Didn't buy the machine; just put pills in there, folded the top down and pounded it with a knife handle. Wish they had made them easier to buy. One pack wasn't enough, multi pack option had way too many, but to get just 3 or four of the small packs would cost more than the multi pack.
Pouches holds up to pill crushing well. I even used pouches folder in a piece of paper with a pliers to crush stubborn pill.
Pill crusher itself is well made applies enough pressure most of the time. Sometimes have to move pouch around to get at all pieces of pills crushed. With small pills I cut pouch a little shorter so the powder would not have a lot area to coat. Can use a little water also to wash powder out.
The bags arrived when promised and in excellent condition. They are just the right size for "a bunch" of medications at one time. The bags are also sturdy and thick enough to not break easily when hitting the bag. We do not have the silent night crusher but use the head and side of a metal meat tenderizer and I am still very pleased with my purchase. I will buy these again as they meet my expectations. I used these bags at a hospital and nursing home where I worked when crushing medications were necessary.
These are awesome. It's so much easier to presort medication and crush it in these pouches. They are thick enough so that they don't tear when I'm crushing the pills, and none of the medication is lost like when I was placing the pills in a pill crusher.
Very helpful for crushing pills without losing the meds. I just put the pills in the pouch, fold it over on the top then smash the bills with the back of spoon, drop some applesauce into the bag, mix it up and use. You don't need the overprices "pill crushing machine."
