We live in tick central. Walk to the car, meet a tick. Doing some gardening, meet a village of ticks. Spend any time outside for any length of time in any vegetation and you may as well just write open for business on your head for the ticks to invade. Not anymore. This stuff WORKS. Recommended by Eva Sapi at UNH after a lecture on Lyme disease and she nailed it. I can spray my family and go out with confidence we will not succumb to those horrible little parasites and the diseases they spread. Also works great for green head flies on the beach, mosquitos and any other insect you are trying to evade! A staple in our home and cars.
Awesome product! Mosquitos don't care for my husband much, but, they love me and my children. I was hesitant about this product. I have tried other "natural products" which do NOT work. I used this on a hike in Tahoe with my 2 children. I applied to this on my children's face, neck, arms and legs. I also did an additional layer of spray on their clothing. I reapplied roughly 4 hours later. Neither my children or I were bitten by a single mosquito. My mother in law on the other hand had 4 bites within 20 minutes of our hike. She decided to give this product a try as well. She applied this DEET free product conservatively on her exposed areas only. She did not apply it all over her clothes. After she applied this, she didn't have any additional bites thereafter. I am sold!
PROS:

- All natural! DEET FREE! Safe for children. Even if you don't have children, DEET free is the way to go. No harsh chemical smell.
- The spray bottle provides an even mist for easy application
- Bottle didn't spill along our hike.
- Cap on the spray stays on well. It took a bit of a beating in my backpack, but, it stayed on well.
CONS: I haven't found one yet.
Last summer we spent a fair amount of time outside. We were visiting a small lake in Northern Wyoming and there were a ton of deer and horseflies. They were biting like crazy! I used this on my baby and myself and neither of us suffered any bug bites. We also used this occasionally closer to home both in the mountains and close to our home and still, no bug bites (we mostly have mosquitos here). Awesome! I did not mind the smell of this spray, it wasn't great, but not terrible either. I thought it smelled way, way better than products like OFF that contain more dangerous chemicals for little ones. Overall, I'm very happy with this product. I don't think I'll ever go back to the DEET containing products.
Update: The second summer using this and I am still happy with the product. It works well at keeping the mosquitos away. Remember to reapply often if you are in an area with a lot of biting insects. It seemed to work for about 1-2 hours before the bugs started bugging us again. Also, be aware that the first ingredient is castor bean oil which is highly toxic. If using on young ones, make sure not to spray it in their face by eyes or mouth, or on their hands which will likely go into their mouths.
Effective and family friendly bug spray. We live in the south and the mosquitoes this year were terrible. We have been using this spray for about a month or so and it works well. Bottle and sprayer are good quality. While mosquitoes don’t usually target me, this stuff has been effective for me and the kids even while at the campgrounds in the evening. It does smell, but not as strong or bad as other brands. It’s not too greasy either, sprays well and rubs on easily when I have to spray my hand and then rub it around the kids ears. Will buy this again.
I really like this bug spray! I dislike products with Deet and i was so happy to find this! Bugs just don't land, don't sting or bite, and it is such a relief. All natural ingredients, and it is not unpleasantly strong-smelling. It even works against deer flies, but you have to keep reapplying, especially in the rain, or if you are sweating.
FYI this does have a super strong smell and honestly I am not a huge fan.... so i basically hold my nose when I put it on.

Works great! 1 day I didn't apply for soccer and it's the only day we found a tick on my child at the field. It's our go to bug spray, we live in NY in tick wonderland and don't get any in us with this product!!!! That's amazing FYI!
My 22 mo daughter is has very strong localized reactions to mosquito bites, including cellulitis of her leg when she got a cluster of three bites. So, I have to prevent mosquito bites as best as possible. I'm not wild about using DEET products on a baby/toddler. So I used these all summer, at all hours (especially dusk) and locales (camping, swimming, near the house, outdoor dining). I was largely happy with them. They are convenient and easy to use, natural, 1 wipe is plenty to cover a toddler (parents can use the leftovers), and my toddler actually thought wiping herself with the towelette was fun, which was a pleasant surprise. I did notice that a couple of times she did still get 1-2 bites despite having used this. However, we are generally out at dusk, which is the mosquitoes most active time, so I still give these a high rating because they likely prevented many bites. I'd give 5 stars if she didn't get ANY bites when we used these.
I got this spray for camping purposes and have yet to try it out for that. However, I have frequent mosquito conventions in my yard and it’s difficult to be outside even for a second without getting bit. This makes taking my pups outside to do their business a chore that none of the kids are crazy about. We were able to stay outside for fireworks. I sprayed this on everybody. There were 17 people total and not one mosquito bite. In fact, one of my nephews had a mosquito on him while I was spraying him down and after I sprayed the mosquito it instantly fell to the ground and died. I am soooo looking forward to putting this spray to the no see ums test. I can’t wait!!!
The best! Keeps gnats away and mosquitoes from devouring me and my lo. Don't forget to spray your hair a bit to keep gnats out of your face.
This was recommended to me by a friend who felt it was one of the few more natural insect repellants she had tried that works well. Sure enough, I have taken it camping many times and worn it on evening picnics, etc. and the mosquitoes don't bite me. It has a strong herbal/citronella odor which I find quite pleasant.
