As pictured, the ones I received were dark, pretty much black in color. One has a slight scratch, not very noticeable.
The wavy design holds my long hair really well without slipping. The stick is long enough where I can use one stick to pin up all my hair.
The wood is strong and smooth, works better than my plastic or metal hair sticks as this won't break like the plastic ones or snag my hair like the metal ones.
I'm ordering two additional sets, plus a few of the other designs as back up. I'm sure I'll lose them in my bags somewhere and would like to have extras handy.
Quality ebony hair sticks! Silky smooth 7 inches long and hefty (30mm plus circumference at midpoint) and carved wavy so they stay in place. And there's a hole on top so you can add a dangle if so desired. FYI : One of the sticks I received was more brown than black with a visible wood grain pattern---I only use one at a time and I happen to like brown--but a matched black pair they are not. Great sticks though.
I have long hair and recently I got in the habit of using pencils and pens to pull my hair up at work. I decided to buy actual hair sticks since I figured it might look better than a random pencil. These are great quality hair sticks. They're sturdy and are able to keep my long hair pinned up all day. I'm sure they'll last me a long time.
I love these hair sticks. I’ve just started using them. My hair is VERY thick and midback length. One stick holds all of my hair up all day with no hairspray needed. Only complaint I have is that the stick is so thick that it pulls my hair out when I stick it in. If you don’t have really, really thick hair like mine, you may not have this problem.
The hair sticks are great and do their intended job. I have curly hair so once something is put in my hair, it won't come out until I pull it out. The sticks are sturdy and smooth and the curves on them help to "grab" the hair better. Watched a few videos on how to use these and...voila! They work well on my medium long, medium texture hair. I always thought of these as frivolous, but they don't pull, snarl/damage, or leave kinks in my hair - feel secure. I may even move on to a decorative pair!
These are really lovely, a nice weight. I have really fine, medium length hair (just below my shoulders) This sticks a little long for me personally, but I still wear them almost daily. They glide into the hair easily, but stay put and hold well. I also never feel like the will snap when placing them.
I bought this product about a year ago, and wanted to use it for a while before submitting review. I have to say, it does not disappoint at all. In fact, after a year of using the stick almost daily, I am still using the first stick I grabbed last year. The second stick is still sitting brand-new in the bag.
First of all, I have Asian hair - very thick and straight with length to about mid back (I'm 5'1"). when my hair is gathered/twisted into a bun, the bun is very heavy as well as thick and dense. I have tried a few other sticks I picked up at festivals & craft fairs, but all of those were unable to handle my hair. The majority of them were not sturdy enough and snapped; the very few that survived were bent after one use. Then by chance, I stumbled on to this set.
The stick is very sturdy. The wavy handle design makes it easy and comfortable to hold. The point is not too sharp so to scrap & hurt my scalp, but not so dull that it won't poke through my thick and dense hair bun. The finish on stick is smooth and gives it a classy look. The length of stick is perfect - not too short so it is buried with the bun, but it's not so long that it looks like you have a silly stick through your head.
Overall, I'm very impressed with the overall quality of this product, and I'm very happy with this purchase.
I really like these. They're more casual than my other hair sticks and won't seem too elaborate for my simpler outfits. They feel kind of lightweight to me, like plastic, but solid enough to where it won't be an issue.
Very cool hair sticks. I use mine all the time. They are good quality wood. The slight wavy shape helps keep them in place. I would buy these... you will love them.
