I use a LOT of ice packs, every night, because I suffer chronic pain, so I have tried a lot of brands. This is by far my favorite. Their covers are soft and insulate just right with a fold-over top. The pack stays pliable and lasts well. It has a great weight to it, so I really love it for putting on top of achy muscles and joints, it's very soothing, and doesn't fall off like other brands do. I highly recommend.
The cloth cover that comes with it covers the 11"x 14" bag but the ice pack provided is folded in two.so you can expand the ice pack to twice it's size with a pillow case. The ice pack has worked well for me with no negatives.

following knee surgery I purchased this and was very pleased- stays cold a long time!
Great ice pack. Much like one you’d use at a physical therapy office. Stays cold for much longer than you need. Takes about 1-2hrs to fully re-freeze. Which is fine as you typically do not ice more frequently than that. I use this for my back. As someone mentioned in a different review, the soft blue cover only covers the pack when folded in half. But if you need the full size (like I did) this is easily fixed by just using a pillow case over it.
Good ice pack and does not get hard. I would of gave it 5 stars but the cover that comes with it is half the size and is designed to fold pack in half to use the cover. So for me I just use a pillow case.
I love the flexible gel compress for after back surgery as it help with the swelling from the surgery and help to keep the pain down when you don't want to take pain medicine.
