DryCast Waterproof Cast Covers Leg and Foot (Adult Short Leg Wide)

DryCast Waterproof Cast Covers Leg and Foot (Adult Short Leg Wide)

DryCast Waterproof Cast Covers Leg and Foot (Adult Short Leg Wide)

I purchased a cast cover from a local medical supply and handicap store. The "large" bag barely fit over my cast and was a real pain to use. It tore after only two uses. THIS CAST COVER was perfect. Easy to place around your cast (I have large legs and the cast was very large). I had ample room in the cover and the special seal was ideal. I still didn't trust the opening so I used Nexcare Absolute Waterproof First Aid Tape, 1-Inch x 5-Yard Roll (Pack of 6) around the top and I never had any water trickling in the bag. I'm thinking about taking this product to my local store where I purchased the other cast cover and show them what a real cover looks like!

I'm actually surprised at how well this works. I was "lucky enough" to have surgery on a broken ankle tendon, and my hard cast is HUGE, and will be with me for 2 months. I've used this quiet a few times, and it keeps the cast bone dry. I hope I never have to purchase this product for another cast, but if I need to... this is the brand I'll purchase. Well worth every penny.

Having had ankle surgery and been fitted with a wound dressing and half cast to just below the knee, I ordered this rather than wait one to two weeks before showering, or fooling with the old garbage bag and rubber band trick. This product works like a champ! Read the directions, though, for getting it on over the cast, and final positioning of the barrier prior to wearing in the shower. This product is a lifesaver if you're wearing a cast - the manufacturer implies one can swim in it - that might be a bit much, but for a shower, it's perfect.

This product is the best ever, just had foot surgery and who knew these things existed ( I didn't). Haven't been able to wet the injured foot for two weeks and this is the best thing, water does not get in it while you shower, the top part is very sturdy and wraps around your leg, the plastic is also very durable, I actually put a Velcro walking shoe in it with my foot, can't stand on foot by itself. Recommend it for anyone who needs to keep anything below the knee the dry.

I honestly didn't expect this to work as well as it did. Great for showering, but it wouldn't work well for submerged bath or swimming in my opinion. It kept the cast and leg perfectly dry and putting it on/off was very easy. My upper leg is fairly skinny and it worked well, but because of the rubber like material at the top, it will accomodate larger leg girth (but be sure to buy the correct size obviously). The price was $14.99 in March 2014, so the price has changed considerably.

DryCAST is the original waterproof cast cover that has been trusted for over 25 years. Don't settle for anything else. Order your authentic DryCAST waterproof cast cover for the shower today. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: TO PUT ON (Psst...it's so simple!) Remove any sharp jewelry and smooth out all rough edges on your cast to prevent tearing the DryCAST diaphragm. Using your thumb, stretch the diaphragm to make room to insert your cast. Insert your cast into the DryCAST cast cover. Once completely over your cast, push the plastic ring toward the cast so the inner edge of the diaphragm points up and away from the cast. TO TAKE OFF: Stretch open the rubber diaphragm with your thumb to ease over your cast.

I highly recommend this product. Very well constructed with durable, heavy plastic. The top is a round, rubber seal that does a GREAT job of keeping the water out. I have been in an AirCast for a couple weeks. It is a huge boot-like thing similar to the Star Wars storm trooper boots from the movie. (I am only allowed to take off the boot at night for bed.) While a slight challenge to get it over this boot, it does fit. Once you get it over and around the ankle part it's simple to just pull it up the rest of the way. Be sure to "scrunch" up the plastic part get it on your leg. (Like when putting on panty hose.) you won't go wrong getting this cast cover.

If you have ever tries to keep your cast dry, you know what a hassle it can be. This gadget makes your life so much easier. Just slip it on and you stay dry. It is reusable, too, so you don't have to search for new plastic bags all the time. It is also safer than using the plastic bags. You don't have to worry about getting a tear in the bag because ti is heavy duty.

I never would have believed that the DryCast would have worked. It did -- perfectly!!!!! I recently had foot surgery and sported a non-weight bearing cast for 10 weeks. The DryCast cover kept the cast dry for the entire time. It was very easy to put on and take off my leg -- a very welcome surprise. Highly recommend this!!!!

This cover works extremely well! I was skeptical at first, but the thickness of the material ( vinyl, or similar) is sturdy, not thin.
the opening is protected by a soft rubber that is tight against your skin, to keep the water out, but not uncomfortable. I've used several times, and no leaks yet! It might get a little condensation inside, from body heat being trapped inside while on, but that's minimal. Terrific product and I'm glad I found it for my recovery!

Wow! Did some research on YouTube about bunion surgery. One of the videos suggested this product for showering with a leg cast. It absolutely works! Not one drop of water got on the cast.
