This item works to stop the bleeding. It is a bit messy as you need to pour the powder on your wound. The new tubes of Wound Seal have a cap instead of an envelope that you had to tear open (not to easy when you are bleeding).. This lets you use as little as needed and you can save the balance for the next mishap. It does not burn when you use it, unlike a similar liquid. The price of the 3 pack is about 50% less than at our local CVS for the same amount.
I bought this to replace my old powder that had expired, but I have used it in the past and when you can't get to a Urgent Care or hospital quick this stuff will stop the bleeding, and I have used it on cuts that went to the bone. I highly recommend this product for everyone to have around the house, and specially for those who hunt, hike, or fish this stuff could keep you from bleeding to death. Yes I recommend it for everyone.
just got to use this stuff and - works like a charm. I was modifying a box to ship some stuff and accidentally stabbed my thumb to the bone. I believe in sharp knifes, more like rayzors, and my thumb was pouring out blood leaving a nice trail from the kitchen to bathroom. i really wasnt sure this stuff could stop this much bleeding but, I pour it on and whamo, no more bleeding. Today is the second day and if it werent for this stuff, i am sure that i would have needed stitches. AWESOME STUFF!!!! It leaves a hard scab like residue, actually, its kind of harder than a scab, to protect the wound.....and unless my thumb falls off later from it, i will buy this stuff from now on.
I have been using WoundSeal Powder for more than 2 years for a condition I have in which I bleed easily at the slightest bump. I was really tired of the bloody shirt sleeves and pant legs from clumsy passengers on airplanes and other insults to my arms and legs. Then a nurse suggested I try WoundSeal. What a life saver. I stopped bleeding instantly. Usually I do not have to cover the injury with a bandage. One caution. READ the instructions and FOLLOW them. Applying the pressure after application is an important step. It takes a moment but you wind up with a good solid cover over the wound something like an instant scab. Don't worry about removing it. Just let it come off with the scab that forms underneath. I have packets in my workshop, office, glovebox and my shaving kit for when I travel. It's a good product.
My son cut his thumb and the bleeding was persistent. Urgent care was closed.
Bought this at a local drug store and it stopped his bleeding fast.
I was impressed enough that I bought 3 more of these to keep at home and in the cars.

WoundSeal Powder, 4 ea (Pack of 3)
I recommend this product for every home's First Aid Kit. i purchased this some time ago and had my first time to need it.
I received a bad cut and heavy bleeding on my thumb from a sharp lid when opening a can of soup. I remembered the Wound Seal in my medicine cabinet. Thanks for this emergency product. It worked !!!!!
I purchased 3 packs to give for gifts. Personally, i keep this on hand in both of my homes and in my car first aid kit. It works great and particularly for family members on blood thinners. I have 2 family members going to Haiti on a mission trip this spring thus they are getting their packets from a gift.BTW I am a former industrial emergency nurse in a glass factory . I sure wish this was available when I was working years ago! Great product!
Accidentally cut the side of my middle finger with a sharp pocket knife. Cut was deep and I knew immediately once it happened (grabbed finger and squeezed cause I felt how deep it was). Had some of this powder that I bought back in July for my emergency kit. Put the finger under the faucet to wash and just poured blood. Wrapped in a paper towel and put pressure on it. After 5min it had barely slowed down. Poured this onto the cut, in 30 seconds later I had a scab & bandaid in place. I'm reordering enough for the whole family!
Get some and be prepared!!
This stuff is superb! It is excellent at stopping the bleeding. My skin is pretty fragile and it rips easily which means that Band-Aids can pull my skin and then I have bruises to contend with. Not with WoundSeal! No adhesive bruise and it actually does stop the bleeding. It even worked on a cut to the bone wound in my finger. I've been using this for about a year, I think. My sister gave me some and swore it worked. Well, she was right...it's a miracle powder in my books.
I'm glad I bought these. I caught my finger in my bandsaw. While it wasn't a terrible cut, it bled like a stuck pig. Just make sure that you read the instructions before you need one! I rinsed the cut and poured the wound seal into the open cut rather than on top of the wound. Had to break it open, writes, then do it right. Either way - they work. I keep a pack (along with battle bandage and tourniquet) in the workshop. Better to have and not need than to need and not have.
