I was all set to order the Carex Bed Buddy Neck Wrap, which I have used and re ordered for years, then noticed some of the new reviews saying
that the product quality had declined. I realized that this was true, my last re order the construction was not as good at all
and the product deteriorated much faster. I decided to wait although my current Bed Buddy was full of holes, sagging,
and I had it taped up with masking tape. !!!
Then, I found an email from Amazon "based on my recent browsing" telling me about the Sunny Bay Extra Long Neck Heating Pad
Decided to give it a shot and am I glad I did!!! Love, Love, Love it!! The way the baffle is sewn makes the product very efficient
because you can just slide the rice beads to fluff the whole thing up beautifully
No horrible smell from the get- go. And snugs up so nicely on your neck and stays put.
I am going to order their other model as well which has a long tail section in the back to go down between your achy shoulder blades!!

This thing is awesome. If you have neck issues that require moist heat on a regular basis, I highly recommend this product. Not only does it get warm and stay warm for a decent amount of time, it also stays on the neck area instead of constantly slipping off. Also, the risk of burning yourself with this is pretty much non-existent.
I had a similar, yet smaller, rice bag my mother made me years ago, but this one is quite a bit longer which helps reach the middle in your back and your shoulders. Works great to help loosen sore or tight muscles without resorting to medication or staying in the shower for far too long. I've also folded it on itself and laid down on it to target the heat on a specific hard-to-reach area of my back.
I did manage to burn a hole in it after about a year, but this is apparently due to not following the heating instructions, which recommends turning it halfway through the heating process and keeping an eye on it to make sure it doesn't snag and remain stationary. Sunny Bay has offered to replace it, however, so I can't complain.
After I had had neck pain for days, this easy-to-use product gave me almost instant relief. Its soothing heat also improved my ability to move my head from side-to-side without pain. Sometimes I fall asleep when sitting in a chair; and with this wrap around my neck when that happens, it provides the added benefit of stabilizing my neck, keeping my head from falling into an unnatural position and adding new neck pain. After suffering a back injury, I needed something to sooth my pain. This wonderful heating wrap did the trick. After heating it up in the microwave, I ly on my side and drap the wrap over my side with the majority hanging down over my injured back area. The heat is soothing and pain releasing. The wrap holds and dispenses heat for a remarkable length of time. It is carefully constructed with a nice velvety cloth covering, Most highly recommended.
This is my second purchase. I have spinal stenosis, and when I have a flare up I pull out these wraps, put them in the microwave and know I will have some relief. I use one on my neck and one on the base of my spine. They don't stop the pain, but they do relax muscles and joints, and make it easier to perform my daily routine. They are also great when I want to sooth muscles after physical therapy. They do have an earthy aroma, it's not bad and reminiscent of burning sticks. For me it's comforting because I know relief is on the way. As the pad cools the smell lessens and it isn't noticeable when you store them. Chronic pain sucks. If I could wrap my body in a blanket of these pads I would. The wraps don't cure the pain, but they help me endure it!
I heat it for 2.5 minutes and it stays warm for up to 30 minutes without being to hot. I like that I can wrap it once around my neck and then drape it over the top of my injured shoulder. Great for post auto injury whiplash + shoulder injury. I am only 5 feet five inches with a small frame. It would definitely wrap around and support the neck of a larger person.
I've warmed up to this product.
Initially the smell bothered me, very plastic...maybe the fleece? It fades.
I also didn't love the stiffness but found the weight of it is worth the stiffness.
It holds its heat well and the length makes it easy to use along the spine, over the pecs etc.
I use it every day now :)
This product is extremely well made and works exactly like advertised. I have tried dozens of neck wraps and heating pads over the years and the Sunny Bay wrap is one of the best I have tried. The exterior material is high quality, soft, and durable. They didn't scrimp on the beads, so you don't have to keep repositioning the beads to keep the heat where you want it. Overall, I'm very Impressed and will be purchasing other Sunny Bay products in the near future.
