Dixigear Ultimate Pro O2 Oxygen Backpack, Navy

Dixigear Ultimate Pro O2 Oxygen Backpack, Navy Blue

Dixigear Ultimate Pro O2 Oxygen Backpack, Navy Blue

I work at a Continuing Care Retirement Community. I carry this bag daily. With the movable organizers inside the bag, it makes it easy to "make the bag yours". I had a minor problem with my first bag, and DixieGear immediately rectified the problem. I love this bag. Holds up to daily use.

excelent

This is the type of oxygen backpack that I am looking for..

Because I prefer my first aid bags to be in fluorescent orange (maximum visibility at night at a MVA or other trauma scene), I had to order direct from the company at a higher price than what the Navy blue version costs here on Amazon. At the time of this review, I had just gotten it two days ago, and right now, I just got back home from a possible cardiac arrest job with it. I work out of my house in a rural area in western New Jersey, and respond POV to critical incidents where I know my arrival will be 6-8 minutes quicker than the nearest BLS or ALS unit.

Previously, I carried a smaller general first aid bag and a much larger O2 bag with a D tank, airway stuff, NC/NRB/BVM and larger trauma dressings...even three neck collars. All that with an AED made for a lot of "baggage" to carry from my POV to the patient - and then to gather and drag all that back to the POV was a chore. What the Dixigear backpack enabled me to do was to consolidate the general first aid bag and the O2 bag into a single bag (backpack) that would now be on my back - allowing my hands to be free! On the call I just came back from, I was less distracted about where my gear was, and I was more agile around the patient than ever before. That was because there are two reasonably long large zippered mini-bags that are on both sides of the backpack (like outriggers, if you will) that can pivot to my chest so that I can easily get my "vitals" gear (as in one mini-bag) or tape, cravats, 4x4s, etc (as in the other mini-bag) - all without having to take off the backpack itself. In the case of needing O2 et. al., one would have to take off the backpack to access it - unless another person was available to assist.

In general, the insides of the backpack can be configured in many different ways to suit one's preferences. There are a number of clear plastic pockets to store items in and also little clear plastic bags that Velcro to the inside back of the backpack. If one is familiar with Meret first aid bags, one would not find this backpack as rugged - but the Merets easily cost three times as much. So for light to medium daily call volumes (3-8), I am very happy with this backpack.
