I have a severe sinus condition that I'm in maintenance/healing mode with after three surgeries in a year to try and clear it up as much as possible. I have to irrigate--doctors orders, no choice--2 times or more each day. For a long time, I used the salt that came in packets in my solution. The problem with that is that the packaging takes a lot of room, the salt purchased that way is expensive on a cost per use basis, and then there are the empty packets you have to throw. I got tired of that and started looking for another solution.
The Ancient Secrets Salt in the jar is very convenient to use...open the jar, use the scoop to move salt from jar to solution, close the jar. Could not be easier. The price? Well for the convenience factor it provides and comparing it to name brands like NielMed, I'm very happy about the cost of this product.
I've seen other reviews giving this product 3 stars because the reviewer could by 'non-iodized' salt for less. I don't doubt that is true, but remember that you are putting this salt--in solution--up your nose and into your sinuses. After over $100K worth of surgery, I am VERY particular about the purity of the ingredients I use for nasal irrigating. The Ancient Secrets salt is manufactured for that purpose, whereas salt cheaper 'commodity' type salt is not, and is likely to be adulterated with additives to reduce clumping. I think the Ancient Secrets salt product is a good buy compared to equivalently pure alternatives, and I highly recommend it.
I have used this and I have used the Himalayan brand, and I find that this one is a better choice. With the other one if you got too much salt in the mixture it burned. If you got too little it burned, so the sweet spot was very narrow.
I also found that you can make your own perfectly buffered blend like NeilMed and Nasopure by adding your own pure arm and hammer baking soda to your jar. That is exactly what they do and charge you two thousand percent more money for it.
Works like a charm and does not dry out your sinuses.
I use Ancient Secrets Nasal Cleansing Salt in my netty pot whenever I feel a cold coming on. I also use it for minor hay fever and allergy symtoms. The products works great. I have never experienced any difficulty with the product. I definitely recommend it. I will continue to purchase Ancient secrets Nasl Cleansing Salt.
I appreciate the way the solution cleans out my sinuses. I have tried it when the water and, by accident, when the water had cooled too much. Warm is better. The overall effect, though, is not bad. The solution does not sting. Since I have Sjogen's Syndrome,having the salty fluid in my nasal passages isn't all that different from very watery mucous, though I am careful about not getting too much down my throat. Anyhow, the key message is that done carefully, nasal cleaning is nothing to fear. The results are great. I use the solution before bed, then am able to sleep most of the night, even now with the beginning of pollen season.
I have used this salt for many years and always get the same satisfaction. I use it for nasal congestion-allergy related. It keeps me from getting sick from viruses as well. It is a part of my wellness routine and I recommend it to anybody focused on healthy living.

I've been using this salt with my neti pot for years and I love the effect after I flush out my sinuses (especially after I've been outside in the desert and been exposed to stuff I react to). I was excited to find it in a jar and not a small plastic pouch that likes to spill.
These salts are fantastic! I.ve purchased other salts from the drug stores and online and they burned the hell out of my sinuses. These salts have not burned my or my wife's sinuses ever. I highly recommend this product.
I use this every time I have sinus pressure. If I'm not sure if I'm getting a cold I use my netti pot and this salt and so far, I haven't gotten a cold. I believe this really helps relieve pain and pressure and helps me flush out the virus/bacteria out of my nose.
Tried using regular table salt and Celtic Sea Salt but the burn was more than I could take This works very well and no burning at all. So easy to use.
Really great stuff! Best brand I've ever put in my neti pot! Also, I like that it's not harsh and it doesn't burn unlike some other brands, yet it works even BETTER at clearing my sinuses and helping reduce allergy symptoms.
