I am satisfied overall with the purchase. I don't buy them often, so it's hard to compare against prior purchases. You'll get about 10 minutes of active cold followed by another 3-5 minutes of moderate cooling (with regular shaking). The size is very convenient; I keep some in my truck, my gym bag, camp kits, etc. It says to "use a compress, and not put this directly against the skin." I used this without a compress after jamming some knuckles. I did not find it to be so cold on the fingers that I needed a compress, but I would agree that other locations would require a compress. For the price, these are a decent purchase. I will likely try something different before buying this again, but I am not ruling out a future purchase.
Small enough to fit three of in my vehicle emergency first-aid kit; activation is easy and _very_ quick; duration of cooling given its size is good. (Tested in use against myself, indoors at room temperature: approximately 10 of actively therapeutic cold through a compress; approximately two more minutes of usable coldness with additional shaking, through a compress; three more minutes of residual cooling after that against skin once compress removed. No appreciable cooling after roughly 15 minutes.)
these packs are a life saver! They get cold enough to bring the swelling down and they stay cold for awhile. Plus they are cheap enough that I can keep plenty around for the house and my kid's practices
works well for sporting games or practices on to go
Works as described. Doesn't stay cold for very long.
