My mom has cancer and it presses on the left upper flank of her rib cage. This is very painful, so I bought this to help. It did help greatly although she can not use it now because she is on radiation and you shouldn't use anything hot on the area.

from HealthSmart does work as it says but you should have more than one since you can not reheat them for two hours. I should of got a bigger one too with a small one.
To the questions I see on here let me address them.
What is it made of inside? It is made with non toxin glycerin beads that when heated in the microwave expand with moisture and hold heat. It lasts for about 15 minutes.
How do you secure it to the body? It has no straps so that is up to you. I used a pillow to prop it for her and also tied it on with a sling when she was moving.
Does it have straps? I answered this above but no it does not. You could always go to the dollar store and buy a strap and some Velcro and make one though.
NOOOOOOO to this question.... Is there a time limit to how long i should microwave it ,it says 60 seconds i feel like it needs 5 minutes but I'm afraid of damaging it !? It would way too hot. I heat it for 1 minute and 15 seconds to give it time to cool before I put it on here. It also depends on your microwave, mine is small, I heated it my sisters and it was way too hot at 1 minute 15 seconds. Her microwave only took 30 seconds to heat it up.

my brother is dying of brain and face cancer. he has two of these and a microwave next to his bed. he is constantly putting them in for a few minutes. they really do relieve some of his pain. thanks for a good product. only problem is that after a while the outside surface breaks down and inside foam comes out. it's a pain to put in the sleeve that comes with it, but necessary. we ended up making our own sleeves that were a little bigger.
I could drone on about how much pain I have and why I needed this, but here's what you actually need to know about this product:
-Works well considering the convenience. It won't stay hot for more than 15-20 minutes but that's what you get when you don't have to soak/spray with water. Either way, that's the recommended amount of time for one heat session, so that's fine.
-You have to wait a few hours between uses. It needs to absorb moisture from the air.
-It can absorb particles from your microwave and lose effectiveness. I just put it on a paper plate when I microwave it. Problem solved, probably.

I bought several of these in different sizes. They go in the microwave for about 1-2 minutes to heat up and the heat lasts for about 30-45 minutes, decreasing in intensity. They are wonderful because they provide moist heat which is very beneficial, especially for joint and muscle pain. Love them!
Love this heating pad. I just put it in the microwave for 1 minute and place into the blue sleeve it comes with. Stays warm for the right amount of time my therapist told me to put it on my arm. The moisture that comes from this heating pad is excellent. Great product and I like the cotton fabric material.

I fractured my wrist and after the cast came off, the therabeads heating pad was just the right thing to help with rehabilitation. The warmth from the therabeads heating pad allowed my wrist to stretch since it was in a cast for 6 weeks. I couldn't get the same mobility back but the therabeads heating pad helped a lot.
Bought for a knee that is swollen every now and then and it really works great. Stops majority of the pain and wake the next morning to just a little swelling. I bought this after my mother-in-law put her therabead pad on my knee and it worked magic. Highly recommend!
It takes less time in the microwave to be heated.Use this on my disabled husband and bought more sizes for hands, chest and back.
It provides nice moist heat for around 20 minutes, but then you do have to wait about 2 hours before you can reheat the pad again. It needs that time to reabsorb moisture from the air -- and if you're in a dry setting it could take even longer. So you need to determine if 20 minutes every 2 hours is the kind of heat you need -- or if you need to order more than one.
these are the greatest. Just the right size to put on your tummy for cramping or lower back strain. I can use it at work by tucking it in my waistband to hold it on my stomach and loser back. I also have them in larger sizes. It gives you a moist heat which is better than the dry heating pad.
