These glasses are spectacular! I have been buying Costco readers for years (3@ $18). I always thought that cheap glasses were meant to break. I always expected to get a few months and then discard because something happened; frame broke, nose pad came off, lens popped out, etc. I even ventured into buying a more expensive pair and got the same wear time. Very frustrating.
I saw these on Amazon and paid about the same per pair that I have been paying at Costco. It has been several months and there is not a sign of wear. While I expect these to eventually break, I am extremely satisfied with their construction and lenses (2.25 - a less popular magnification). I hope they remain available because I am now a committed customer!
You know what happens as you get older? Your eyesight starts to go (other thing do to but let's stick to the topic). I've needed reading glasses for a while now and have purchased a bunch of different, inexpensive reading glasses that I have scattered all over the house. Most of them have broken or bent or just felt as cheap as they were and I needed some more. I purchased this 3-pack based on reviews and liking the style based on the pictures. I have to say, these are by far the best reading glasses I've purchased. They are sturdier than I expected, seem well made, look good and are comfortable to wear. Plus, I can see what I'm reading. What more could you want? These will be my go-to reading glasses from now on and will definitely be the ones I buy in the future when I need more!
Ok - so to be honest ... I'm one of those idiots that has spent the better part of his life in front of a computer and burned his eyeballs to a fraction of what they used to be. I've complicated that by trying to mitigate it by using reading glasses. Just spent the last 3 years in China... and reading glasses there are sooooo cheap. So I've been ordering cheap bundles of them from AMZ since I've been back ... but this is the first order from these guys. I just got them 40 min or so ago. Man.. it was amazing (and no, they're not paying me a dime) --- crystal clear, thick lens, great frames..... beats the hell outta' Shanghai street vendor fare. Highly recommend.
Just as described, very good quality, clear lenses. They look good and I now I can read clearly. Hint: try to make sure you get the correct strength. Previous to buying these, I went to a local store to get a pair of reading glasses. Not really knowing what strength I needed I got a pair that was too strong (2.0, I figured it probably wouldn't hurt). During my annual eye exam, my doctor told me I really should be using 1.5, which is what I ordered from Amazon. Big difference, I would have thought the stronger ones would have been better, but it didn't turn out that way. A slightly less powerful lens makes reading much, much easier. For less than I paid for one set at the local store, I got three pairs of really good glasses, couldn't be happier.
I really like the modern styling of these readers. Also, they're very lightweight, so you barely feel them, even after extended periods of wear. Most importantly, though, they work as well as any prescription glasses I've ever worn.
I do wish getting three identical frames in the three-pair bundle was an option since, of the three in the current collection, there is only one I'd consider wearing outside of home. However, this is strictly a matter of personal taste and YMMV.
The only reason I didn't give the full five stars (and I wish there was a half-star option, so I could give four-and-a-half) is that the lenses, even with extremely gentle handling, tend to develop cracks around the edges, where they meet the frame - particularly in areas where there is a sharper curve in the frame. This happens after a few months and has been consistent in the first three-pack I got about a year ago as well as this latest group. The phenomenon is likely due to internal stresses in the lenses at the corresponding points of attachment to the frame. This in no way affects performance of the lenses and doesn't give rise to any safety concerns that would lead me to stop wearing the glasses; it's simply a cosmetic issue and I'm not sure there's any way around it without changing materials and/or process which would, of course, most likely lead to a price increase.
All in all, I'm very happy with these (hence the second purchase) and will, when the time comes, be back for more!

I got these for the budget price. I sometimes loose them. They get scratched because I leave them lying around. I try to keep them wherever I might need them, so this was a great choice. I got a set of the "classic" rimmed as well. This is the second time I have purchased them. One pair from my original order did drop to the floor in Walmart and snapped in two at the nose. I am pleased, because of the price. I also like the spring hinge because I hook them in the collar of my shirt when I don't have a shirt pocket.
The second set that I purchased was definitely a disposable set. All three lost lenses in a very short time frame and there is no "snapping 'em back in". I am now looking for a better deal. (And that goes for both styles. The plastic rim breaks at the edge of the lens and walah, no lens.)
I have been buying reading glasses from Amazon for ten years. I can't do anything without them. They are scattered around my house and vehicles. Because I buy so many I have treied countless brands. I always bought the cheapies. I decided to take a chance on something more expensive. I am glad I did. These are the best and highest quality glasses I have ever had. I just gathered up all my cheapies and tossed them in the trash. I ordered a bunch more of these. They are my go to glasses from now on.
Why? The lenses are much clearer. Also they are not distorted in the peripheral view like the cheap ones. You will especially notice this while shaving. Also, the frames are sturdy and well made.
(UPDATE March 4 2019:
Ordered 2 more. One pair broke at the joint where the frame meets the temple within 3 days of normal use. Had ordered them as a pair so will see if the second one lasts longer longer. Was 5 stars, now dropping one star for breakage.
This was my second order of Specs Men's Half Rimmed Reading Glasses. They look good and fit well. They come with different temples so you can wear them on different occasions: plain black for home, black with fancier joints for office, and tortoise shell for more festive occasions if you prefer. I've worn different brands and these hold up well as long as you don't step on them hard. Also like the springs in the joints. Can bend the nose bar to fit your face. Less than half the price of similar ones at brick and mortar stores, with no loss in quality. Highly recommended
I was amazingly impressed with the quality of these glasses.The arms are not flimsy, contrary they are strong. These glasses aren't a lightweight cheapie. They have some heft and durability. Plus 3 different color frames and they all look great! They don't self clean however. Oh well cant have everything. On the other hand, each pair comes with a micro fiber carrying case, that not only protects the glasses when not being used, they're a great cleaning cloth. This is my second order of these glasses.. I have a tendency of running over them with my power chair Even these fine glasses, aren't going to survive being run over by a 400 pound power chair. Also the company is great to work with
I needed to get some 2.25 readers. They apparently are hard to find. These are perfect. They are quite lightweight and do not feel heavy after wearing them for a while. They sit on my face and nose without slipping off and are straight. And I can see what I am reading much better now! Can't say too much about them. They are just what I needed.
