As a Doctor, I'm always looking for ways to help my patients ease their pain. This hot/cold therapy wrap works like a charm. The beaded technology works similar to the old "bag of peas" trick I'd recommend for patients when they had back pain or any type of joint pain. It allows the wrap to be flexible and form around the area. The extra straps in this pack is a nice touch because people come in a variety of shapes and sizes and so do their body parts!
The directions are crystal clear to follow which makes it easy for anyone to use. You can't go wrong with this product.
I purchased this ice wrap primarily for the different straps. Ice compresses are used often in our home, and I thought it would be nice to be able to move a little without having to rebalance and wrap with every shift.
First, this ice pack serves my purposes nicely. The strap actually stayed in place while I walked around a bit, allowing me to go into the kitchen or bathroom when needed.
Second, the compress is quite well made. It has a short strap "built in" sufficiently long to wrap a knee or elbow, but includes three more of varying lengths that would allow wrapping of almost anywhere on the body. Because the straps use hook-and-loop tabs, it's possible to add to the lengths as necessary. There is a very nice, soft lining to one side of the ice pack that also reduces some of the cold of the compress. The seams are wide and look sturdy.
Finally, the compress is nicely compact. Space is an issue in our refrigerator, and it folds into a neat 5" x 4" x 3" space that is easily tucked into the door shelf. Unfolded, the compress covers a 12" x 5" area.
Clearly, I've only used the ice pack function, but it can also be used as a heat pack with all the same benefits. This will do frequent duty in our home.
I have Hashimoto's and am in pain daily. Sometimes I need heat and sometimes I need ice so this product was interesting for me to try. No matter what I need it for it works every time.
The adjustable straps make it easy to use it almost anywhere and the velcro keeps it in place. Because it has a nice, plush pad I don't have to search for a hand towel to protect my skin. Both heat and ice work really well for the time I need them and it doesn't take long to freeze again.
My daughter ruptured her ACL and had surgery in January. She reinjured her knee a couple of months ago and hasn't been able to have surgery again. She "borrows" this ice/heat pack so often I am going to have to buy her one. She says it's the only thing she's tried that stays in place.
I've used this for headaches, my neck where I had surgery for degenerative disc disease a few months ago, my joints, my muscles and just to cool off when my body temperature rises and cools. I am going to buy more for myself as I can afford them over time. Sometimes I need heat and ice at the same time.
Great product, I haven't found any cons so far but will update this review if I do. I've been using it a few weeks now.
After trying different combinations of ice cubes in plastic bags and ice packs with towels, I finally found this for my TMJ pain. The Velcro strap works great to keep the gel pack where I need it, whether I'm sitting up or laying down. I use it wrapped around my neck and also over my eyes. This put the "flaps" behind my ear or on my TMJ, respectively. One side has the cooling gel beads and the other has a super soft plush covering. The gel side provides intense cold therapy, while the plush covering acts as a built in towel for a more mild effect. I like to put a little lavender essential oil on the plush side so it adds aromatherapy too!

This hot & cold gel pack is AMAZING!! I recently got injured & fractured my ankle. I’m currently in a cast and was told to keep my ankle elevated an use a ice pack for swelling to reduce. Hence me getting this & im GLAD I did. This pack lasts hours and gets extremely cold & hot definitely worth the money. Like I said I have a cast on & it felt like I had the pack directly on me. We have tried many different kinds of ice packs and heat wraps over the years. This one is by far the best we have ever used. What I like most are the velcro straps that allow you to attach the ice pack/heat wrap right to the area of injury or soreness, and it actually stays! Since we have a few family members that get frequent lower back pain, it is nice to be able to ice your back and not have to lay down. Usually the chiropractor recommends icing for 20 minutes and it stayed cold for the entire time. The soft fabric side is my other favorite part about this product. No need for a paper towel or wrapping a cloth. It is super soft and comfortable directly against your skin. Heating in the microwave is easy and it stayed warm for quite some time. Nice to have a great reusable ice pack/heating wrap handy for any injuries from the gym or just for my arthritis on my hands (used the heat in the morning for my sore fingers/hands). Great product!
I injure my bag a couple times a year consistently--pulled muscle in the lower back due to tight hamstrings. For years I just used a heating pad, thinking that would help. I only later learned that heat alone can actually add to the swelling. My chiropractor explained that the best therapy for swelling and inflammation is to switch back and forth between hot and cold, so I do that now instead. It helps a lot. I used to just use a bag of ice wrapped in a towel for the cold therapy. But that's such a hassle, and inevitably the bag leaks and my bed gets totally wet before I realize it. I'm small at 5'4" and my husband is 6'4". When I get hurt it's tough to find something that fits my small frame because most of what we have for injury relief is geared towards the husband.
