Seems to work okay. Not great suction but I hope to never have to use it in the situation it was intended.
I haven't tried it on my son who uses a regular powered suction machine, but I tried it on a glass of full water and it suctions pretty fast. It was easy to assemble and I am glad I bought it on case of an emergency.

have to pump it really hard and fast to get mucous out of calf's throat but sure better than using a rag and your hand

awesome little device that every medic should carry as a backup. this thing can suck up a lot very quickly

Great hand aspirator. It works very well. Now it is a part of my car's emergency and CPR kit.
This is the best manual suction device I've used. Of course, manual suction isn't the best option, but if you have to choose a device I strongly recommend this one. So far it seems durable, and these canisters are far less clunky than the V-vac. I like that it comes with two sizes of tubing, and they are vastly superior than the V-vac's rigid, gigantic plastic tip. Suction is consistent and strong enough to really be useful. This device takes up much less space than the big, neanderthal V-vac.
