Eyekepper 5-Pack Spring Hinges 80's Reading Glasses Includes Sunshine Readers +1.75

I just needed some cheap and cheerful readers for work - nothing special. These are perfectly acceptable for their intended purpose. They're comfortable and the construction is surprisingly good, given the price.

Cannot beat the price of these readers. At the multi-pair package cost that I paid here on Amazon they worked out to less than 4 dollars per pair, yet the overall quality of the materials, construction, fit and function rivals that of the name-brand reading glasses from the drug store or Target, etc which cost 3-to-5 times as much! They are as inexpensive as some that you can get at a Dollar Store, yet 10 times better quality of the cheapy ones.

The lenses are good, with no distortion,

The springs hinges are surprisingly decent quality and not too tight/stiff, nor too loose/flimsy, aiding the fit and comfort. Typically, you pay extra for spring hinges at the regular stores/prices.

I also appreciate that they come in several different shapes, as I much prefer a fuller lens size/shape instead of the little rectangle ones that people slide down to the end of their noses to "peek" over the rims at you. I find the full lens size also helpful when reading for long periods as they much reduce eye-strain since they provide a wider filed of vision.

I'm going to buy some more of these so that I will always have several pair handy.

I have probably lost, stepped on, sat on, dropped and broken more readers than I care to remember. They have been expensive, cheap and in-between and it never mattered because as I stated they either vanished or somehow got broken. But thank God I've now found an inexpensive and seemly somewhat quality way to replenish my endless needs for an adequate reader. The frames are study and even gender neutral stylish. The lenses seem to be clear and of good enough quality. I can't state enough how pleased I am with this 5-pack of readers. If history is any indicator I am certain I'll be ordering again.

If you pick up and leave reading glasses everywhere, like I do, these glasses are a great value. While no one is going to mistake them for expensive designer frames, they do have spring hinges and I've had no problems with the lenses. They are cute in a retro way. The dark lenses on the sunglasses are darker than then appeared in the photo to me, but that is a plus, not a negative. I especially like the dark frames with the clear bottom - very geeky cute.

Just make sure when you order reading glasses that you get the right magnification level for your eyes. As long as you do that, these will work great for you.

Honestly, these are so cool that I'm buying a "Low Dose" set to wear all around! (A stylish trick that really changed my wretched "where are my glasses" life!) I can still see distance, even drive, but glancing at the phone or a written memo doesn't require that "I'm so old that I have to fetch my spectacles" moment. I wear a 2.25 to read or do my nails - but I wear a 1.25 when I want to have this flexibility!

My fashion-forward 20-something roommate bought a very similar pair for $100 to wear "just for looks" - that's an LA thing maybe? Anyway, her lenses are CLEAR, no purpose at all, but she loves the cool look to wear for fun!

The shape of this set is perfect. And I usually look pretty awful in glasses. Best of all, they're an amazing deal. Not flimsy at all. High-quality glass. LOVE the spring feature too. Very happy. Thrilled, in fact.

CARE

To avoid damage, never clean your reading glasses with paper towels or clothing or alcohol, and also avoid using household detergents or soaps. While a few mild soaps don't harm lenses, today's extra strength soaps are powerful enough to slowly disintegrate lens coatings.

While my first order was a bust, the second order arrived and I can say each pair was perfect and just what I expected based on all the previous reviews! I love them. The sunglasses readers are a great addition, if you want to be out in the sun relaxing and reading.

(My original one star review: Beautiful sturdy look and feel, HOWEVER, every pair had a defect fresh out of the plastic bags. Two pair had deep scratches, one pair had a broken arm, another misshapen rim with the rogue lens sitting loose in the packaging. The fifth pair was warped and misshapened, wouldn't even sit straight on my face. I could have lived with the scratches but I had to return the glaring defects so they all had to go. I will order again in hopes that better quality control brings me something decent and I will revisit my review. However, if that doesn't do the trick, I'll move on to another brand altogether.)

As I grow older, I need the assistance of my reading glasses more often than not, so having several pair of them around is helpful as I'm not wasting time looking for them. I try to buy packs with multiple pairs because I can keep a pair in every room of the house, and one on my desk at work. The quality of these glasses is better than I would have guessed for the price I paid. The size was a pleasant surprise as well, as I find most readers to be a bit too small for my taste. I'm a man with a 'normalish' sized head and my nose has a pretty large bridge, these glasses are comfortable, look really good, and haven't given me any trouble so far. They have spring hinges which a plus at this price point, the lenses haven't been problematic after a month of regular use, and the tinted pair is great for me, because I live in the southwest and these are great for reading or measuring things when outside. It's nice to have all of the variety in the frames too, I will probably buy another set of these to keep in reserve because it's a great deal, I would recommend them to anyone having trouble reading this.

I really like these glasses. I just wish my husband and I could swap. I ordered this brand for each of us - different packages. Both are men's glasses, but his have a smaller lens. He likes mine better; I like his. :) Too bad we do not use the same strength. I had ordered their women's glasses in a multi-pack a few weeks ago, and they were too big and would not stay on my face. These (men's) are not. Ironic, isn't it?

They are really quite good reading glasses for the price - MUCH better than the ones from the $ store.

Update: I have now worn them most of the day. I still like them but noticed how ridiculous they look on my small face. I did not reduce my rating because it is not the glasses' fault that I have a small face.

I bought this and another 5 pack at the same time. DH and are are both 41 and I'm truly shocked bc I can't see normal things anymore. How did this happen? If you find yourself holding the cook instructions for a can of biscuits 2 feet from your face, it's time to give in. Point, we need readers in every area of our house these days. I bought a pair of peepers for 22 bucks bc Oprah recommended them and I was not impressed (probably a good time to mention I sold safety eyewear and specialty traders for 15 years so I know exactly how much it cost to produce these items). I bought (2) five packs for half the price of peepers. This set is nice, price is great and lens quality is much better (better glass) compared to the other less costly set I bought.

This is the second 5 pack I've purchased. Last year I bought the same set in a different strength. I've had the same style glasses that were name brand reading glasses that cost 15.00 a pair, and these are better made and seem to last longer. The multipack is great because I can leave a set in my purse, desk at work, nightstand at home, etc.
