Hot Water Bottle with Gray Plush Puppy Dog

Hot Water Bottle with Gray Plush Puppy Dog Cover

Hot Water Bottle with Gray Plush Puppy Dog Cover

I decided to buy a hot water bottle to stick under the covers to warm up my feet on cold winter nights. I figured a plush one would be nicer feeling than an uncovered one. I like dogs..so this is the one I decided to get. The price was fantastic so I thought I would take a risk getting this one instead of one of the others with reviews. To be honest I figured it would end up being some cheap plastic hot water bottle stuffed into an unlined plush dog of questionable quality. But to my surprise, the dog was soft and pleasingly plush with a "linen" liner. We are not talking high quality build-a-bear plush, but not free carny prize cheap either. It has plastic button eyes so I would not recommend this to be used with very small children because of the chocking hazard, but the floppy feet and arms give it extra cuddle factor. The hot was bottle itself was also a surprise. It was not the cheap plastic I was expecting but a REAL hot water bottle made out of natural rubber. The plug is a gasket-ed plastic piece that threads into an anodized metal socket. Some younger reviewers might describe a "chemical smell" but for people in the know..it's pure memory recall of what Natural Rubber smells like. I guess that could be good or bad depending on the individual. The smell is only noticeable (to me, anyway) right up close and was certainly not noticeable when I put it in bed down by my feet. The instructions tell you not to use boiling water, so I used hot tap water. I filled it once to heat it up, then dumped and refilled. I tell you what, it did the trick. The warm plush was soft and pleasing on my feet and the material didn't snag and the feet and head didn't entangle. After one nights use there was also no sign of leakage. The only downside, and it's not much of a downside is that it's kind of tricky to wrestle the bottle into the dog after filled. I think that is due to the issue of the materials involved and not design. Rubber just isn't very slippy to slide into things. But after doing it a couple of times it became easier to do. It might be more difficult if your hands are very arthritic. All in all, a good hot water bottle dog.

I work for an animal shelter and I fostered a tiny puppy who lost her mom. Heating pads were too hot and she would have died without warmth. She loved this thing. She snuggled up to it every night for her first two months. I imagine kids would love it too.

This is a cute water bottle. I purchased this for helping to transition our new puppy when he comes home. It was as I expected for the price. The puppy cover is okay. It certainly will not hold up if it ever needs to be washed unless you put it in on a delicate cycle. The water bottle is very sturdy looking. As someone else mentioned, it might be difficult to get the water bottle in once it is filled. I will probably be leaving the cover half on to fill it, to help avoid a struggle. There is a horizontal opening in the middle of the puppy's belly with a velcro closure. The water bottle has a fairly strong smell but if you are able to remember what a water bottle smelled like, it is no different than that. I certainly wouldn't lower the stars for it because I expected it to smell like that. Overall, it will serve it's purpose for me. I will not lose sleep if it gets destroyed by our new fur kid because the price was so good. I would recommend this product but only if you don't mind the smell of an old school water bottle. If you think you would be bothered by the rubber oder I would look elsewhere.

My 4 month old has tummy issues and this is the perfect size for him and not too heavy. My only complaint is if you take it out the dog to fill it, it's impossible to get back in (especially with an infant screaming in your ear). And if you fill it without taking it out, the dog gets wet. I'd still buy it again though.

Used this with my baby pup. Really liked it.

Description

This adorable, soft plush puppy will make it fun to relieve those bumps, pains and cramps. Just unscrew the stopper, fill with hot water and re-tighten the stopper. This little puppy will be quick to the rescue for your, or your child's, aches and pains.

The Puppy Hot Water Bottle is also great for pre-warming your bed or keeping your feet warm. And by giving your child or pet the warm Puppy to cuddle up against, they can feel a sense of security as they drift off to sleep.

The water bottle is removable, making it easier to fill and also to wash the plush puppy cover. It is a strong, high quality bottle made from natural rubber. A small ice pack (not included) could be placed in the puppy instead of the water bottle, when cooling is desired instead of heat.

Not as cute as it looks (in grey) but soft and does the job.

What a delightful concept. I use it frequently since it has arrived. I suggest placing the bottle in the dog before putting in the water. This is good for when you don't feel good or if you can't sleep- it' puts me right to sleep.

Very happy with this product. Purchased for use with a new puppy. Perfect size and made well. Our puppy has drug it out of his kennel but he has not chewed it up. I keep a chew toy in his kennel so that helps. Highly recommend.

It was for my grandson to help him sleep.
It didn't work as well as I hoped. Not because of the product, but because of his lack of desire to sleep!

A little smaller than the typical waterbottle but worked fine for what we needed
