My legs have a tendency to get colder than the rest of my body, particularly at night which results in leg cramps.. Adding more blankets to the entire bed made it too hot to sleep comfortably, I cut one of these in half and placed it between the top sheet and the blanket(s). Problem solved, no more leg cramps, no loss of sleep.
These mylar blankets are great to put in your vehicle emergency kit (I have them in both vehicles). I also ordered a few extras recently and placed one inside a covered feral cat box I made for a stray cat--just put some straw on top (not towels or blankets which can hold moisture) of the mylar blanket and it keeps the feral cats from freezing to death!
Large, somewhat see-through shiny metallic very light weight emergency blanket. It does hold heat when I wrap myself in it. I used a rubber band to roll it it. I take this product with me when I travel "just in case" something goes wrong. This emergency blanket was purchased for a winter cruise for nights when the wind is blowing cold -- but I want to watch an outdoor movie. I put a couple of ship's towels on top and suddenly, I am nice and warm without loosing valuable luggage space. I lived "up north" I kept of of these in the glove compartment "just in case" I was caught in the snow or ice. For camping, I place this between the ground and myself during the warmer weather. During the winter I put one beneath and one on top of my sleeping bag to conserve energy. I am curious about how other people use this product. I would buy again.
I bought 10, and have given away 7 of them to others!
I tried one on top of my top sheet...No good, got cooked!! Tried it on top of my blanket, again way too hot!!
I have a second blanket I rarely use but keep it there for cold days, so I taped it with masking tape to the top of that blanket....Perfect!! When cold, I pull it about half way over my shoulders, the only bad thing is getting warm and going to sleep....then you wake up sweating!!, so as soon as I get warm enough, I move it back!! and am really happy with it!!
I didn't exactly use this for what it was intended for, but it works absolutely perfectly for my 'tomatoes' that are growing in my grow tent. This makes a perfect reflective curtain to keep the heat in in the cold winter. 10/10 would buy again.

Description
Heat Reflective Emergency Blanket/Survival blanket by Dukal
In terms of price per product, it is moderately expensive, but it's one of the very few Mylar sheets sold individually on Amazon. When Walmart runs out of singles and starts selling in packs of 20, I just buy it here.
I purchased this for my family's hurricane preparedness kit, so hopefully I don't have to use it anytime soon! However, it is very small, so that is perfect, as it doesn't take much room.
Very compact. I'm sure it works great but let's hope I never actually have to use it. The plastic bag it came in is not reusable so I found a small ziplock-type that did the trick.
It does what I wanted - reflects body heat back while weighing next to nothing. I am just not sure how durable it is or how long it will last. It was very cheap so I bought a few in case one tears. Not cozy, though!
I keep 2 in each car for emergencies. Work really well. I recommend keeping some in your vehicle for emergencies. Warm for winter, can be used as a reflector to signal.
