This helps to not only heal already existing cold sores, but I also to prevent them from coming on. Ever since I started using this, I have largely been able to decrease the chances of cold sores. I use it every night before I sleep.
this stuff is GREAT. they also have a lip balm that comes in a few different flavors.

Nothing helps my cold sores like this stuff! I am ordering 3 more today just so I have extra on hand. I keep one in the car and in my purse for that unexpected one coming on. I have scaring on my lips because of all years I have had the cold sores. I could not treat fast enough before they'd turn into an open sore. I have tried Abreva (which I now believe makes it worse once they reach a certain stage), and a copycat type of Abreva that I used to swear by when I had to buy on vacation in Mexico one year. After using up the tube of medicine from Mexico, I was in a panic to find more once I came home. That's when I discovered this Lysine as I searched on Amazon. I decided to buy as well & give it a try and like I said, there's nothing better. Hint: Of course I use it throughout the day while I feel one coming on to prevent further growth but I have also learned to apply liberally to area just before a shower or brushing teeth and washing face. It is at those times that are trickiest as they are most vulnerable to open and become a sore. This acts as a barrier to the moisture. I have not had any turn into an actual sore since I have used this product! The BEST STUFF BY FAR!!!

I take a prescribed pill once a day and use prescribed cream when a cold sore appears.
However, after using this product, I am convinced it works better than any prescription. It's amazing how it stops the sore from growing and what little bump does make it through, is gone within a day or so.
I'll keep buying it!
