I bought three of these for my 4 year old daughter. She falls a lot and needed some boo boo ice packs. I had a few that did not hold up, my daughter chewed through them.

I am confused why these have reviews written for children, that is why I bought them. If you look at the picture, which I did not noticed until I received the three of them, they clearly state for ADULT USE. But yet on the back is a mother holding the pack over a young toddlers head. If they are for adults, why does the picture show a toddler with the pack? I am thinking the company fears they might be sued so advertise it as adult only but know parents are going to buy it for their children. I have not had an issue with them and think they are perfect for my daughter. They freeze well and when she is done with it, we wash is off with soapy warm water and place it back in the freezer.

I am happy with them but think the marketing of the item is confusing, mainly the box.

This is an adorable reusable ice pack for little bumps that happen around the house and the turtle design is really well done. I like the green color since it is neutral that any kid could like. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is it could be an inch or so wider. When it freezes it gets fairly solid but not rock hard which is good. Some notes from the packaging: PVC free, BPA free, non-toxic, medical grade gel is made of 75 % purified water. Green sprout products meet or exceed safety standards for the US. It says it is designed in Asheville, NC but Made in China. In addition the packaging is printed with vegetable based inks.

This ice pack has been awesome! What I love is it's small size, perfect for toddler and young kids to handle themselves. This became especially important around the age of 2.5 when "boo-boo's" were multiplying, whether real or imaginary. I take this out, hand it over, and return it to the fridge a few moments later. It's also great because it's not as cold as ice and doesn't need a towel or cover. Much less fuss than bag, ice, and towel creates.

I've also used it personally after burning my finger while cooking. Again, super easy.

The only downside is the first one only lasted about a year before the edge split open and we had to order another.

We call this “mr cool owl” in our house and he fixed all sort of booboos, even the ones no one can see and when feelings get hurt. ;) “mr cool
Owl” has saved the day for serious head bumps that really need a cool compress too. I’ve bought 4 or 5 of these through the years and they can pop/leak after being played with by an aggressive toddler but I would expect that. Generally they are very sturdy and I recommend this brand and product.

This thing is adorable, it stays soft when "frozen", and it holds up to a reasonable bit of mauling. The "icy owl" is one of my toddler's best friends. She sometimes pretends to get a bump just so she can have icy owl kisses. I have purchased two of these now. The first one lasted about a year before my kiddo squeezed it hard enough to pop one of the seams. My fault: I wasn't watching her closely enough to prevent her from folding it then twisting it. The gel is non-toxic and relatively easy to clean up.
My only beef is that it really does get quite cold. If my daughter holds onto it for very long when it's right out of the freezer, she starts asking ME to kiss her poor frozen fingers.
All in all though, it is highly recommended.

My toddler always calls for the turtle whenever he gets hurt. He is going through that phase where he is obsessed with band-aids, so this product has become a lifesaver. He knows now that when he doesn't have a cut, Turtle will do the job! We keep two of these in our freezer door, and he knows where it is. It stays cold long enough to get the job done, and it doesn't leak on my furniture like a bag of ice would. It seems a little pricey for the size, but as often as it has been used, it has paid for itself!

My kids always seem to have an ouchie. The kind that goes away pretty quickly with a kiss or an ice pack. Anyways, this is a favorite! Great for putting a a bumped knee, finger, toe...whatever gets bumped. The kids can pull it out of the freezer and use it for a couple of minutes (or seconds). Easy to wash and refreeze. Cute, vibrant turtle! Not too cold. We do not have to wrap it in a paper towel.

These are great for minor "boo boos". They're easy to pull out of the freezer and put on a bump or a scrape. I had a SpongeBob Boo Boo Buddy for years that finally wore out. Couldn't find a replacement for it, but these are just as good, if not better. I feel these stay colder longer.

I love that it is flexible yet durable, and can be cold or warm. The ultimate boo-boo pack! My two year old daughter frequently asks for her pack to soothe her boo-boos. It is sometimes difficult to convince a toddler that your remedy will work for them, so it is a relief to know that I have something on hand that works and she also WANTS to use! We keep ours in the freezer in a ziplock bag to keep it germ free and ready to use.

Boo Boo Buddies are the best! I originally purchased this for my nice because she is like a bull in a china shop and is constantly running into things and so on as children tend to do. She loves these and they make her feel special because they are fun and cute. I find that I use them more for migraines than anything, the turtle fits perfectly over my eye socket (genius design) and it doesn't feel like my face is going to freeze over. I also have the fox which is great for the t zone migraines.
