Great little portable device. We bought this for our LO to have as a white noise machine. We travel a lot and it works great. Really great that you can use it with a USB cable. So it was working both in the States and in Europe.
The only downside is that it uses a lot of battery if you don't plug it. But since we used it only occasionally for naps without the USB it was fine.
One thing I would recommend - take out the batteries when plugged in. It seems that somehow it doesn't recognize that it's plugged in and uses batteries.
Edit: Since this is our third machine I would like to point out that the USB port becomes loose very easily. We are on our third machine. Only our first one lasted for 17 months. Second device was about 10 months. And now our third one just disconnected after only 7 months. It's a pity as this device is very light and portable and does it job good!
While not perfect, I would say that we were completely content with this product and the very positive impact it had on our baby's sleeping habits... and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Then after several months of use, the remote failed and then the USB port for charging came loose and fell into the device rendering it unusable via AC power. So why did I rate it five stars? Because of incredible customer service. Silverflye says they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee and from my experience, they are not kidding. I sent them a one paragraph email at 4:51pm today explaining the situation and 6.5 hours later at 10:54pm (these guys must be fanatics because they're website says they're based in Virginia!) I get an email back apologizing profusely and saying they've put TWO replacement units in the mail to me (one as a "back up" -- What?! WOW!!!) and that I didn't need to send back the old one. Now who says exemplary customer service is dead? They've clearly won me over by great service. All that said, this would be the bottom line as I see it: A product that does the trick and if it doesn't, they will make it right. So what have you got to lose? Might as well give them a try as I see it.
I am using this for white noise for my 4mo old twins at night. I originally thought why do I need a remote but turns out I love the remote because I can turn it up/down without going into their room and risk waking a baby. I also love that it can be plugged into an outlet or run off batteries. It gets nice and loud -- too loud at highest setting actually but that's a good thing. No annoying lights on it that glow and light up the room... pitch black is the best for sleeping babies. And the price is such a good deal.
This is a great little sound machine. I received the updated version that came out in October. The updated version gets rid of the clicking in the song selection menu. It also defaults to the last song that you left it on. I only have 2 cons. It eats batteries. I have since switched to using a micro USB cable and this is not an issue to me anymore. The second con is that you cannot use the remote to start playing the sounds after it has been stopped for a while. To get it to play, you must first press play on the actual device. This is not really a big deal to me. All in all, it is a great little device and I would recommend it to others.
We love this sound machine. My new born loves the thoughtful natural sounds and white noise that puts him to sleep every night. It's great because his sleep training is going great and he can't sleep without it. The remote is a wonderful feature for those other parents who are in sleep train mode. BRAVO Silverflye, Thank you!

Update: The company has contacted me and are replacing my defective one with the new model that's coming out that runs off AA instead of AAA. Great customary service! I'm changing my review from 2 stars to 4. I'm hoping to be giving the new version a 5 star if the AA version batteries really do last longer.
Original review: It was great until it broke less than 6 month after we purchased it. The usb power connection broke off in it, so now it can only be used with batteries. This happened with very minimal use. It stayed plugged in beside the baby's crib and never messed with other than to hit play and stop. It goes through batteries pretty quick, so we are going to have to replace it. My son's sound machine (different brand) is going on 3 years and survived the toddler years. Although I like the remote and sounds on this one better, I'd rather but one that lasts.
I am giving 4 stars only because the recharging port is very cheap and broke after only 1 week. It still works except we have to change the batteries quite often since we cannot plug it in. The quality and volume of the sounds is a lifesaver. It is loud enough to drown out the 3 year old yelling, screaming and dropping things so that the baby can sleep. It works great for white noise and is loud enough even for a busy household with dog, cat, neighbor kids knocking on door, loud vehicles going by and other kids arguing over toys. For that it has been a lifesaver!
They have excellent products! The sound machine is a big help! Our baby sleeps well with music playing and with this we dont have to leave our phone or computer running all night. It comes with a remote which is very handy when you want to turn the music off after your baby goes to sleep. I'm sure other parents can relate to getting up at night just to turn off the music. Very useful!
As a toddler teacher, I appreciated this as a resource for nap time! I've had other white noise machines and this is the first product that I've purchased where a remote is included! I love this- especially since I have plenty of tasks that I need to accomplish in two hours of nap time, that all I have to do is hit the button on the remote to keep the little ones relaxed in their sleep. It is also very convenient due to not having to deal with any cords because keeping two year olds from pulling on it becomes a safety hazard. I appreciate that all I have to do is replace the battery and not worry about my littles ones getting their hands on it while it's plugged into an outlet. The other benefit to this sound machine is that it's portable and compact enough, allowing me to place it near the children whom have trouble following asleep smoothly. This has helped my little one (who takes forever to settle down) doze off to a relaxing sleep and has kept him from waking up after half an hour. The end of the school year is right around the corner and I'm looking forward to trying out this product with my new students in the 2016-2017 school year! :) all in all, I recommend you trying out this product for yourselves! Affordable and useful!
I moved into an office space and discovered the walls are paper thin and I need privacy between the two adjoining offices. I could have spent $3k on insulation but decided to buy four of these and put along the wall above the hanging ceiling. These are so amazing !! When I have a client in each room, I simply hit the remote and voila! They all come on and the problem is solved. Since they are above the ceiling the sound is minimal but they “scramble” the sound wave. This company is sitting on a gold mine w this product. They should market it for office privacy ! I saved $3k and couldn’t be happier !
