Thermalon Microwave Activated Moist Heat Pad for Shoulder, Abdomen, Back, Hip, 9" x

Thermalon Microwave Activated Moist Heat Pad for Shoulder, Abdomen, Back, Hip, 9" x 12"

Thermalon Microwave Activated Moist Heat Pad for Shoulder, Abdomen, Back, Hip, 9

Love these heat pads. I have been a fan of the neck wrap by Thermalon for years, but decided to try this pad since it is larger. This is a wonderful product. It is easy to use, microwaves fast for moist heat, and lasts a decent amount of time. I use it for stomach aches or when I need heat for pain relief from sore muscles. The pad is adaptable and will mold around your leg or knee just as easily as it can be used flat for your back or abdomen. My last one (the neck wrap) lasted for over 2 years with regular use before I needed a new one. Highly recommend!

I've had this for a few weeks now and I really like it. I haven't had any problems with it getting over heated in the microwave. The most I can heat it is for 1.5 minutes in my microwave or its too hot to put against my skin. The pad had dividers sewn to keep the 'hot beads' from falling to one side. Glad to have purchased this. I will update if I end up having problems after all.

This works really well. It holds the heat for about 15 - 20 minutes, which is about what I need. I use it with a TENS machine or sometimes by itself. It holds its shape fairly well, but also is soft enough with enough give to conform to a knee or something like that. I've found it to be very useful.

Update to review. I've had this for 14 months now and finally found a down side. While in the microwave warming a hole occurred. It went in good and came out with a dime size hole. Upon removing the bag from the microwave the internal beads went everywhere. 12 month warranty, 14 month disintegration of the bag fabric. It worked well but I will not buy another of this bag. I will be going back to either a corn bag or wheat bag warmer.

These work well. Heat 1:30 in the micro and it will last a good while. With a bad back I wake looking for this on most mornings. I also fall asleep, on my side, with this. It helps the pain of arthritis and back injuries. I bought 2 so the wife and I don't argue over who is going to use the bag. We replaced a wheat/corn bag with these. Same idea, these work 10% better.

I bought this after shoulder surgery to provide moist heat prior to stretching during my recuperation. (Couple months after surgery) It works very well, size is great for shoulders. It is heavy enough to form itself around the shoulder and really heats it up. The heat lasts a good amount of time after 2 minutes in the microwave. It is a moist heat- much better than the electric heating pad I was using! During physical therapy they give me heat for 10 minutes while I stretch. This pad provides at least twice that. If you need more you can toss it back in the microwave.
Seems durable and well made. Great for the price! We have been using it for ear aches, stomace aches and I even throw it behind my lower back for relaxing while watching TV. (No back problems but it just feels great!)

I love this for back ache. It's nicer than the rice ones holds heat a long time and just a perfect size. Tell thermalon however they need to make washable cover for it or make it in some dark color, regular use made exterior look shoddy white surface gray and pilling. I sewed little mini pillow cases out of a supersoft fleece blanket and voila ! it makes it absolutely wonderful .

I've had numerous heat pads for my low back pain and these are Great! I read other reviews and sympathized with some of the problems other people have had but it helps to know what other issues they've had. As for me, I put the pad in the microwave for 30 seconds and found the bottom heats a little more than the top so I flipped it over and did another 30 seconds. This was nice and warm but I gave it another 30 seconds and that seemed enough to give me some good heat. I like the design of the bag and the little time it takes to heat up. I plan on getting 1 or 2 more.

I really like these moist heat packs. They stay hot and most for a descent amount of time. When it tells you not to heat beyond the recommended time, definitely follow the rule. I accidentally overheated mine and it melted in one spot and beads spilled out all over. It wasn't the manufacturers fault and the product wasn't defective. It is such a good product that I purchased two more heat packs.

I used to have an electric-magnetic device for the same purpose. It broke after 10 year.

I bought this heat pad and I am very happy. Here are some comparisons:

1. Much cheaper - $12 vs. $100+
2. convenience - don't need to have the electric wire - you can walk around with this heat pad
3. Quick - take three minute in microwave to get ready to use vs. 10 minutes to get heat for the electric one
4. Safe - no need to use electricity wire - when my electric one broke, there was a short circuit inside the device and some spark occurred, and thank God, it didn't cause fire.

Well, the only drawback is the heat doesn't last long enough, about 15-20 minutes. Anyway, I am still very happy with my purchase.

I ordered this because my dog had knee surgery, and would need to be iced down 4x a day for 3 to 4 weeks. Found myself using it when I tripped walking through the baby gate I put up to keep him confined for recovery. Love this thing it will get a lot of use for so many more reasons. Hand washable, use over and over for icing (kept in freezer) or heat therapy (90 seconds in microwave).
