This case gets it done. I previously tried another type of case (marked with the Rayovac or other logos), and the little slide drawer containing the batteries would open in my pocket or bag because the locking mechanism was at the end. I eventually lost the drawer and the batteries at TSA. This one opens by squeezing the case in the middle, so it does not open accidentally. (I tested it, and I could not open it other than deliberately.) And it is no larger than the other kind of case. It costs a little more than the other kind, but it is worth every penny. I am very happy at last, and can stop carrying the six-battery pack in my pocket.
At first, I tried to carry this small battery case inside the change pouch in my wallet. That didn't work well since the case is too thick for this purpose. Then I just attached the case to my key ring and it is doing just fine there. Batteries stay in place and do not fall out.
A simple solution to the real problem of carrying backup hearing aid batteries.
If I find a thinner alternative to this storage case - one that can fit into a wallet - I'll replace it.
The only caddy I have used that does not open accidentally resulting in lost batteries.
