I've been wearing one of these on my right wrist for years, usually for when I am typing. My left hand started having severe pain several months ago. I had x-rays and saw a couple doctors who found no major injuries and suggested it was fibromyalgia. I now wear these on each hand almost full time.
The new one for my left hand took a couple months to become comfortable. The fitment just didn't match my hand, kind of like it was being rotated in an uncomfortable direction. I think the material finally broke in and relaxed a little so that it is no longer uncomfortable to wear. My typing is less painful but more cumbersome and the brace sometimes accidentally strikes the wrong keys. I also do wear these sometimes when playing piano so they do still allow the fingers a healthy amount of movement.
First the good parts: This seems like a well made product, and it fits mostly very well. It's certainly a much better fit than the last "XL" I tried... The thumb hole is larger and much more comfortable than I've encountered on other models, and I don't have the same tight squeeze trying to put it on.
It seems to be working well, too. Once again I can spend more than a few minutes at a time in front of a keyboard :)
That said, I can't wear it for hours on end the way other reviewers say they can. After a while, it starts putting painful pressure on the outer edge of my hand, especially right by the knuckle of the little finger. It's getting better over time - maybe I just need to be patient until it's "broken in" - but I have to take a break after an hour or less.
I was so excited to see that Futuro made a wrist brace that wasn't beige or black. I bought this one to replace my previous wrist brace that gave out after several years of use. At first this fit as well as my previous brace, but eventually it started to hurt. Even wearing more loosely still caused sharp pains up my arm. I can still wear it occasionally, but can no longer wear it to sleep.
The thumb-hole on this brace is considerably larger than on other models, allowing quite a range of thumb-movement; it also does not compress your hand as much making the brace uncomfortable to wear for long times.
There are two fixed-length velcro straps that adjust the brace to grip around your palm and forearm, and a middle stretch strap that crips around the narrowest part of the wrist. This strap arrangement prevents a lot of pressure on the protruding bones on your wrist that more strappy-ones can have. (the 3M Futuro waterproof one suffers from this: it is okay for the shower, but I can't wear it for long times, and you might want to get the larger size in that model)
In one of those strange accidents I sprained the the extensor carpi ulnaris and the extensor digiti minimi on my left hand. Even though this particular product was not specifically designed for that purpose, it stabilized my hand, fingers and wrist sufficiently to minimize pain and allow the tendons to heal.
The brace is very well constructed. It's sturdy but comfortable to wear even while sleeping. The Velcro straps work very well for adjusting the tightness of the brace to suit your comfort zone. Just make sure you loosen the straps as much as possible to allow for better blood circulation while sleeping.

I've used these for 10+ years. Tried other brands, always come back to these. Love these! Easy on and off. Great adjustment options, comfortable, dont rub.
I have several things wrong with my wrists that these help with.
Arthritis, bone loss, tendonitis, etc
My only complaint is palm side, the top of the strip holding metal plate seems to give out and frey after a while. Ive seen people in all types of jobs have the same problem. I can easily and quickly mend it a few times.
I hurt my wrist boxing. I should have taken a few weeks off, but I kept boxing because I love it so much. Well, this only hurt my wrist more. Enter the Futuro Deluxe Wrist Stabilizer. I wore it during my work day for a few weeks and it really helped stabilize my wrist allowing it to heal even while I continued light workout sessions after work.
I tried several wrist stabilizers but this one is the best. It has rigid rods in the right places to make sure your wrist is stable. I even wore it overnight to prevent further injury in my sleep. I highly recommend it.
Futuro got it right. The Velcro closures are properly placed on the top of the wrists, not the palm side, like some other brands. Underneath, they will ,over time, curl and not stay attached and collect threads and lint from blankets and bedspreads, which is almost impossible to remove and quite annoying to deal with. The Velcro closure will then start to curl, through motion of the arms throughout the night. Over time, as they won't stay attached , makes the guard hard to keep adjusted. These stabilizers are extremely comfortable and have adequate cooling materials and stretch to be a super support that rests the wrists in the proper position. As I have carpel - tunnel syndrome in both wrists, these wrist guards have kept surgery at bay for many years. The thumb opening, which can be too squared off in some designs, is rounded with flexible fabric to eliminate the tight thumb pinch. Even though these guards are very rigid and longer than most, they still are cozy and extremely comfortable to wear and I always get a good night's sleep .
I purchased this brand of wrist stabilizer several years ago and practically wore them out! I'm just as happy with the new updated design! They are more stable and secure than the old ones were and the Velcro is EXTRA strong! If I need any kind of brace in the future, I will check this brand first!
I purchased both the left and the right hand braces that I wear at night for my carpal tunnel issues. I don't like wearing them during the day because they slow me down when I type. Which, if you think about it, is probably what they are supposed to do! I bought the small size because I have small hands but the straps make these highly adjustable. I haven't tried washing them yet. Yes I would buy again!
My doctor already set up a surgery for hand right hand, because it gets numbness every single day and nigh. But she said, wait and use Futuro hand splint for awhile and see it gets in better or not.
Just 3 days not 2 weeks as my doctor said. I took off last night...wow amazing no more numbness for my hand.
Thanks again for small product, little money, but does the big job.
