Perfect for kids! They want to hold it themselves because the animas theme is adorable. They can be rinsed off with soap and water to sanitize. And they are reusable.
And they beat bandaids. You know when a kid falls and you know it wasn't a serious fall and the kid is okay but they want a bandaid even though there's no cut? Because we all know getting a bandaid is like getting a sticker for kids.
This ice pack saved me from buy 1000 boxes of bandaids. When ever my nieces have a small fall they used to come to me for bandaids (aka stickers). But now I say do you want an ice pack? Of course they do! They grab it from the freezer themselves, put it on their booboo. Rinse it off, and throw it back in the freezer! No tears, no money spent on bandaids.
I also have a different animal for each of my nieces so they always ran their own ice pack.
I ordered two of these packs (the pig) for my 1 year old, as he has reached that phase where he runs into eveything and bumps his head daily it seems.
I have the larger TheraPearl hot cold therapy pacl for myself and had been using that when he would bump his head. But it was a little big and difficult to use on his small head, and he wanted to play with it.
These little packs are the perfect size, hold the cold just long enough to bring down any swelling and have been great for minimizing bruises. Plus I can let him play with one while using the other on bumps and bruises, as they don't get so cold that he can't hold them.
We have had these for a week or so and I expect to be using them for a very long time. I will probably order more later. I just wish the other designs weren't so much more expensive.
I had foot surgery and it fit in where it needed to be, but I do recommend to wrap it with a paper towel or a napkin, direct skin contact is no good, the line of work I do, is to always to use something when using any ice pack (directly on the skin can lead to frostbite rather quickly).. Even if this is being used for kids as well.
Very cute, works well.. maybe it's a little too cute because my toddler rather chew on it then leave it on his boo boo. Which makes me nervous because there are beads on the inside, and if he were to chew through and the beads come out , that would not be good.. BUT it does what you need it to. It's flexible so it's not like putting a block of ice on your skin.
My son loves this. He asks for it after all bumps and bruises now. It is easy to use and soft plastic and a good size for small hands. Only down side is that the seams along the edge are a little rough. Not sure there is anything you could do about that, but if he is putting it on a cut it has in the past scratched him a little.

We got one at a Walgreens and it broke open. My daughter was so sad and we looked every where for a replacement but couldn't find another one anywhere. Amazon to the rescue. She used her amazon gift card to get a new one. They are child sized. And can pop if to much pressure is put on them so don't let little ones chew on them.
This ice pack has changed my life. I only got it because it was the least expensive I could find , but it is adorable. The little beads or balls inside are very appealing / cool looking and my toddler loves pressing it. Every time she gets hurt she asked for it and is immediately feeling better :-)
This small TheraPearl pack is so cute and works wonderfully for small bumps and bruises for kids and for adults, too! It is also comfortable to use to help relieve puffy eyes as they do not get overly cold when placed in the freezer. I would definitely recommend this product for children and for adults alike.
Note: It is not actually a pack of 2. This was shipped as a single pack and I only received 1 TheraPearl "Pearl" the pig. I already have the small frog one, which I bought at Walmart for only $4.99, but they no longer carry the kids' sized ones. A little disappointed to have paid for 2 and to receive 1
Every household, with little ones, should have one of these in their freezer.....these little critters help make boo boo’s better for sure.
My kid loves this thing. It freezes well but doesn’t get super hard and stiff. The little pearls are malleable. It’s cold, but not bitterly cold, so it’s easy for little fingers to use. It’s a good size for kids. Maybe even small bumps on adults.
