If you have trouble sleeping, buy this mask! This is the second one I have purchased (I have the purple one as well). I bought this one for my son who has to take melatonin on a regular basis to help him sleep, otherwise he is laying in bed for hours. Since purchasing this mask, he has been falling asleep in under 30 minutes!!! I am so excited for him, I only wish I had known seen this mask before school ended. He told me that when it makes everything so dark it puts his brain to sleep. He has used other sleep masks in the past and they all didn't do the job like this one does. This one forms snuggly around his eyes, without pressing in on his eyes. So it really is comfortable. My son also has crazy curly hair (tons of it) and the velcro closure for the mask doesn't get stuck in his hair either, and trust me he was very worried about that happening! My son is also autistic, and can be picky about what he wears against his skin, he has had no complaints and loves his mask. And to ensure he doesn't lose his mask each day, he undoes the velcro strap and puts the strap around the post on his bed.
When you need a nap but don't need your eye makeup to look like Alice Cooper when you ride from your slumber, this little cutie does the trick! I've had eye masks before that only work well with keeping light out of your eyes by squeezing your head tighter than my belt on Thanksgiving. But this mask is comfortable and perfectly contoured to hug your face without leaving marks, disrupting sleep, or letting any unwanted light. I'll have to get another one since my husband keeps stealing mine!
Okay, I have worn the Bedtime Bliss Contoured Eye Masks for 2-3 years now. I am a huge fan. The comfort level of these BTB masks are beyond compare! And the masks stand up very well to the test of time and wear. The velcro on the back of the wide strap accommodates a wide range of adjustability. I wore one pair until it was tattered, I was a total fan of these masks by then, so I bought two more pair. I don't leave home without them. I even carry a spare mask and plugs in the little bag that came with the masks in my computer bag just in case. As soon as I heard about the new bamboo and cotton masks I just had to try one. After a few nights using them, I found: They're very nice and seem to be a bit more padded. The fit is fantastic. They seem a bit lighter (even though they seem to be thicker) these new ones also seem to "breath" a bit better. The convex-molded eyes on the BTB mask allow you to blink freely. That molded shape was why I tried these masks in the first place. Normal drugstore masks lay right on your eyelashes (very uncomfortable and aggravating that! The BTB masks do not lose their shape, the bridge of the mask is shaped to hug the bridge of the nose (I'm pretty sure that goes for any nose) and cheeks. Not a peep of light gets in. And another big plus, they fit very well even while wearing an over-the-nose CPAP. Now I don't want to clutter up the review with a long story about my battle with insomnia. So, let's just say that the combination of a CPAP, these ultra comfortable masks, and a set of ear plugs may have very well saved my life! (Please note the comment section) I haven't written a review in quite a while, but I just had to say a few words for the folks at BTB. The combination of research, and quality manufacture, has resulted into a superior product.. Whether you have trouble sleeping, or if your a day sleeper, or even if you just want to block the world out for meditation, or an airplane flight, then the BTB masks, and plugs are THE mask to get. I am going to leave a quick summary of my "story" in the comment section. Insomniacs all have a tale to tell.
Have had at least 6 sleep masks in my life. Cannot sleep without them. This particular unit does do a very good job in keep light out and especially at the nose area. The contours really help (I have a medium to large nose, but I am a smaller person). Unit is light and the elastic is fairly comfortable. I've had this unit for a few months now.
Over the years I have tried just about every make and style of sleep-mask ever made -- including those insanely expensive, high-end memory-foam kinds -- and this is the best I've found. Very lightweight, economical, with ergonomic design that accommodates all sleep-patterns. I'm a side-sleeper, and this is the only mask I've found that will not slip off, and yet the design still keeps the mask from pressing directly on my eyelids. All in all an excellent product that perfectly balances form and function. All with the added bonus of being backed by a company that provides attentive customer service, always quick to reply and address concerns and questions. Excellent!

Where has this mask been all my life?! I just LOVE this mask! I ordered two of them! They completely block out the light -- I used them when I stayed at a house on the beach that was on the second floor with absolutely no window treatments (BRIGHT!). AND the material does not press against my eyelid like flat masks do. The convex shape gives me room to blink as I fall asleep. A great investment!!!This is a great mask! Other masks just don't block out the light the way that Bedtime Bliss Sleep Mask does. Bedtime Bliss Sleep Mask contours to the shape of my eyes without pressing uncomfortably against them. My lashes have plenty of room and it effectively blocks out the city lights as well. Truly a GREAT product. I ordered the second one for travel.
I just started working the night shift and needed a sleep mask while waiting on blackout blinds to arrive. I ordered the Sleep Mask by Bedtime Bliss, Nidra Deep Rest Eye Mask, and the Alaska Bear (with 2 straps). The Alaska Bear tends to rest directly on my eyelids and it was difficult to fit with the way the thin straps are designed with buckles. Between the Nidra and this Sleep Mask by Bedtime Bliss, the Bedtime Bliss was really perfect. The foam is soft and maintains its shape, the elastic and Velcro strap was easy to adjust to fit me. It has room for me to open my eyelids while wearing the mask, which makes it very NON-claustrophobic (if that is an issue for you). There is a small amount of light peeping through around the bridge of my nose, but nothing that bothers me while closing my eyes when sleeping. Thinking of ordering a few more of these to keep in the cars for napping on long trips.
I like to take afternoon naps during the weekends, but sometimes it's hard to doze off when you can still see sunlight through your eyelids. So I decided to buy this sleep mask (the black color) to see if it would help resolve that issue, and boy, it helps a lot! It's pitch black when I put this sleep mask on, even when my eyes are wide open! I find them very comfortable when I have it on. I like how I can have my eyes open underneath the mask, unlike other sleep masks where they press against your eyes to keep your eye lids shut.
The only negative thing I could find with this sleep mask is that sometimes I'll get some light leakage around the nose bridge area. But I can easily fix that by simply adjusting the nose bridge portion of the mask.
I highly recommend this to anyone who wants their surroundings to be completely pitch black.
When I received this sleep mask, I was more than pleased the first night! I have tried a few other masks that either gaped too much because it didn't contour around the nose or felt like it was squishing my long lashes into my eye balls. I estimate that this mask has a good .25" space. So I can open my eyes, with the mask on, stare into the dark void and not have my eyes irritated from my lashes or mask's cloth being pressed into my eyes.
Another feature I LOOOOOVVVVEE on this mask is the contouring around the nose. I have a very straight, but narrow, nose. Most masks leave a gaping hole, but this mask seems to wrap right around all my curves and edges. There is a small slither of light that comes in right around my nostrils, but it's definitely not anywhere enough to cast any sort of light into the mask or bother me, especially with my eyes closed.
Lastly, the feel and breath-ability of this mask is PHENOMENAL. I have rosacea and dermagraphism.. to say my skin gets hot and agitated easily would be a massive understatement. This mask has yet to make me drop a bead of sweat or hatch a hive. I was worried about the elastic, but it's so thin (yet holding together so very well) that it hasn't bothered me at all. My only worry is that the velcro patches sewn onto the elastic will eventually tear or come lose, but so far it has withstood 11 days of multiple use and abuse by myself and two toddlers.
All in all, this is a great mask that breathes well, blocks out light and can definitely cater to the bends and curves of narrow and round faces.
PROS:
1. It blocks out about 98% of the light completely.
2. It is lightweight and comfortable.
3. The recessed pockets over the eyes do not touch the eyelids.
4. It did not move around or reposition while sleeping.
5. I did not experience any irritation or rubbing on my skin during sleep.
CONS:
1. Around the nose, it lets in some light. I have yet to find a mask that doesn't, so this isn't shocking to me, however, the nose area isn't moldable which I thought this mask might be. It isn't. So far, it hasn't been enough light to disturb my sleep but if you need complete blackout this may not be the mask for you. Also, it could be because of No. 2 below.
2. The mask is not designed for larger heads. If you have an average or small head you'll be fine, but if you have a large head it will fit tight. It isn't bothersome, but more adjustment would be preferred.
Overall, I am pleased with this mask and the only reason I give it 4-stars instead of 5 is because of the fit issue. That may be the cause of the light seeping in and if so is a design flaw that I shouldn't have to fix myself. Anyway, hope this helps.
