I have an allergy to adhesives, which at times can develop into a full blown anaphylactic response. I also am battling a life-threatening illness, and have been for over 18 years. So there are times that there is absolutely no way to totally avoid contact with products that contain adhesives, at least for short times. During those times, I need to use a "barrier-product", like the Medline Wipes pictured here. There are quite a few brands of these barrier-products, most of them costing MUCH more than these Medline Wipes, but you won't find any that work better than these do! They provide an adequate barrier between my skin and the adhesive on the needed item, and have the added benefit of making the adhesive stick to my skin better AND make it easier to remove it from my skin as well! (I have had skin pulled completely off during the removal of an adhesive product too many times to count). Because my allergy to adhesives can be life threatening, we never leave something containing adhesive in contact with my skin any longer than absolutely necessary, so I can't attest to how these work when being used long-term. But I can state unequivocally that they work 100% as described during short term use. And I should know, because my life depends on them doing just what they say they do! And these Medline Wipes do exactly that!
This stuff is amazing. I was introduced to it in rehab after surgery. It calms red, angry scars and pressure sores that are not open. I used it on an old, purple burn scar and it eventually turned white and smooth. It out my go-to for emerging pressure sores. It comes in small, individually wrapped foil packets which are convenient and easy to use. I am often confined to bed, and I always keep a supply on hand.
At my age, my skin has gotten so tender that the slightest bump or scrape tears it. While this product doesn't protect me from the tears, it sure does once the skin is torn. Protection from infection is a constant challenge. Sureprep skin protectant wipes fill that need. Once any bleeding is stopped, I clean the wound then wipe the area with a Sureprep wipe. It dries almost instantly, and affords secure protection for up to several days. I only wish I would have learned of this product earlier.
I have to have frequent surgeries that leave large open wounds. The wounds can take up to 3 months to heal. I'm having to clean, pack, and tape each day. After just a few days my skin revolts against the tape. Using these wipes first make a huge difference in the damage the tape does to my skin. They also make it easier to pull the tape off too. Beware, do not get it into the open wound because it will sting.
These swabs are great to make a mediocre bandage good, and good bandage or tape excellent. as it dries on your area you are trying to cover, a thin film creates a barrier to protect from irritation, and it washes off cleanly. There were other products that were a little less expensive, but this came in the time I needed it, and it is the same stuff used in clinics and hospital. These came in handy to take care of an abscess and the dressings that needed to be changed, helped me save money by not having to go for so many follow up appointments and gave me confidence to care for myself with a tool the pros use.

Outstanding barrier wipe; no pain and no excess stickiness. Use with insulin pump infusion sets and CGM. Perfect to successor to Bard Barrier Film which was discontinued by manufacturer.
I love Sureprep. After a wound turned into a scab, this coats it and, therefore, you don't need to bandage. I'm never without it!
I have very sensitive skin and I'm allergic to medical adhesive. I wipe this around my wound (where bandage adhesive will have contact with my skin) before putting on the bandage. works fantastic!
Love these. My husband is still recovering from a motorcycle wreck in which he broke his ankle and it didn't heal well. These wipes - which we apply around the outside of the wound - NOT - on the wound itself, feel really good to him and are great to apply prior to a new dressing.
I have to have a lot of medical testing done and therefore I end up having a lot of tape put on my skin. My skin is very sensitive and it causes a rash and sometimes pulls the skin off when removed. These wipes have been a blessing to me. The tape will come off and it leaves no rash. It is easy to wash off after you remove the tape. I won't ever be without these wipes.
