I caretake for someone who gets heel pressure wounds easy, and needed something to use while her heel healed. Her doctor told me about this "heel floating" device and how it works. I checked it out online and bought it. It has been amazing. The gel pack just above the ankle line helps to hold the heel up, and not directly touching anything with any amount of pressure. Very necessary when you get foot wounds easy. It is soft, yet durable, and easy to put on and take off (with the "hook and loop" straps). It definitely improves foot / heel comfort, and speeds up the healing process. I highly recommend this.
So being the amazing ICU nurse in the world hahahahahah just kidding I have had the fortune to work with some very amazing nurses so I may not be the best but I am crazy about Tequila Mama!!! I decided to do some prevention and a very common place to develop a pressure/bed sores is under the heel because your focusing on their butt and forget the heels. I put these on at bed time turn, her on her side, a kiss good night and no bedsores.
I love these boots! Very well made- excellent material. It is not water proof so be careful . Also they run small. I bought the medium and T-Mama is 4'7" of little might with little feet size 5!!! ! Also this is for one boot, so you will have to make sure to order 2.
Peripheral neuropathy with diabetes is no fun. I wear these at night (every night) and although rather large, they give me complete relief from pressure and a burning sensation in my heels at night. I was awakening 2 or 3 times every night with a burning sensation in my heels; now I can sleep the night through. l commend my seller for prompt service.
My elderly mother developed pressure ulcers on both feet, and I was told that floating heel protectors would work. The price of other protectors were very high as they are sold individually, but I was lucky enough to find these. They are well padded, comfortable, washable, and work very well to the point her ulcers are healing well after a few weeks, and she will continue to wear them to prevent other ulcers from forming.

really really soft. had that hold where heel is to protect it and keep it off bed. washable. very satisfied. ps. I'm a nurse in the icu and we use the pravalon dark blue ones but I actually like these better.
This works great. Potential pressure sore on my husband's heel is already showing improvement after a few nights use. The pressure sore over his ankle bone is also much improved due to the cushioning in the boot. It looks bulky but my husband says it's comfortable to wear.
This is a good product, but did not work for my needs. My mother's foot is twisted and could not straighten out enough to use this product. It is a great idea and does circulate air around any wound. The main reason I didn't give it 5 stars had to do with the fit. It ran much bigger and bulkier than the description led me to believe it would be.
These work great. He was having to sleep on his back with three pillows under his heels to float them off the bed. Of course, during the night he would get off the pillows and the heels would be back down on the bed. Now he can sleep on his side, like he prefers, and no matter how much he tosses and turns, the heels are still protected.
Excellent product. The hole near the heal really prevents agitation for heal bed soars. Well made and easy to put on.
