I had to replace my old water bottle 'cos the stopper snapped off. I wasn't sure about ordering one online 'cos if you get a cheap one they leak or are too thick to even emit heat. They're impossible to find in any stores in the states (I originally got mine for christmas last year in Ireland) so I tried my luck here. I was pleasantly surprised how well this worked out! It's super warm, and stays warm throughout the night and up to 10-12 hours! Important to keep it under covers. Highly recommend it!

The cover is nice and soft. The bottle it made of thicker rubber and does not allow the heat to radiate through as well. Very durable.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
To ensure maximum life from the hot water bottle please read the following:
When filling the hot water bottle, DO NOT USE BOILING WATER. This may damage the rubber.
Fill only to two-thirds capacity maximum. When filling, hold the bottle in an upright position and fill slowly to avoid the hot water splashing back.
Before use, allow up to 20 minutes for the bottle to reach its maximum temperature. Prevent contact with hot surfaces.
IMPORTANT
Not suitable for children under the age of 36 months.
Handing should always be carried out by an adult.
Check stopper for wear and tear damage at regular intervals.
Bottles should be replaced after two years of use.
Hot water bottle can cause burns - avoid prolonged direct contact to skin.

It's perfect for holding in the heat for a few hours especially when you have cramps. I haven't tried it on the cold setting, but it's perfect with warm. I find that it works better when I don't use the fabric. I can't feel anything through the fabric. The water in my house gets so hot that steam bellows from off of it and you can actually burn yourself. I turn that on inside the little purple bladder (as my boyfriend calls it) and I fill it three-quarters full.
If I'm having a lot of pain, and I want direct heat touching my skin, then I use the smooth side of the bladder. If it's way too hot and I don't want that much direct contact of heat, then I use the side with ridges on it against me.
This was such a wonderful investment and it's a lot cheaper than using the heating pad. It's a lot more portable as well. It's also good for sleeping if you want to feel something nice and warm beside you. Even my Pomeranian loves it. Whenever I want to give her a little bit of pampering, I put it down next to her in her bed and she falls right asleep.
