DMI Reusable Ice Bag, Large Ice Pack Bag, 11 Inches, Blue

The best ice bag available on Amazon. I have used many of the rubber and cloth bags over the years and found that the rubber bags to be exceptional and indispensable for pain control. The rubber bags had fewer pin hole leaks than the cloth. The cloth bags also tend to wear more rapidly than the rubber bags and they tend to have more leaky caps. A small trash bag tied over the rubber bag will control sweating. Also, a small pillow case will provide some comfort and insulation to slow the ice melting. As the ice melts, it is recommended to open the rubber bag cap and vent the accumulated air, as well as, drain the water, to keep the bag nice and cool.

Went back to this rubber style after trying a"no sweating" fabric type that leaked. I take this thing to bed with me way more nights than I wish I had to because of chronic headaches, and usually keep it wrapped in a towel all night if I think I might need it so I can just reach for it instead of getting up to fill it. The ice lasts longer for cold therapy than the gel packs, and it hasn't leaked. The drawback is the way it's in use all the time, it eventually gets moldy and is difficult or impossible to clean, but at that point I've generally had multiple years of use and just replace it.

I was amazed at how hard it was to find an ice bag at local stores. This is a pretty standard-issue unit, and it works as advertised. It maintains its seal, and best of all, I was able to get one, after monkeying around with zip-lok bags etc. because local stores didn't carry icebags. The locals wanted to selI me the blue-gel packets that you freeze or heat, and they work OK, but it's a darn sight easier and cheaper to dump a tray of ice cubes into a bag than to wait to re-freeze the blue-gels or buy a bunch of them to rotate.

I don't know if it can be used as a hot pack--probably could, if the water isn't too hot--could deteriorate the rubber, I suppose, if you poured in boiling water. It's hard to get rhapsodic about a dang ice bag, but when you need one, this is the ticket.

Do you need heat or cold for a bobo? Or maybe that headache needs a warm hot pack. This is the way our grandfathers did it. You put in the hot or cold water, as desired, tighten the lid, and enjoy the therapeutic comfort.

I've been looking for a replacement for older ice bags I have for years. Finally, this is the one. This is nearly identical to the bags I have used for over 10 years. It's a great size, has a very good seal that doesn't leak, and is very pliable even when cold.

We've used this aboit 4x since purchase, twice with hot water and the other times with ice. Both time worked very well. Thickness of rubber is pretty decent and the top clasp is plastic but close pretty well.

I'd had one of these years ago but it had began to leak so I threw it away. Who knew I wouldn't be able to find another one in any of my local stores??!! I recently had a knee replaced and use this item about 16 hours a day for the first week after the surgery. I had tried some of those reusable cold packs but they lost their coldness SO rapidly I had to constantly refreeze them. This ice bag stayed cold a long time and when it did warm, it was simple to just drop in a few more ice cubes. Great product!!

Super happy I ordered this ice pack. I am a flight attendant and use this as an ice pack for my lunch. I always have access to ice and this does the trick. Even has a free warranty in the box to fill out and send! Seriously a great product for a great price.

Have been using this bag for about four days with constant use and it is a durable ice bag. Lid closes firmly, it screws on and their has been no spillage. Ice inside doesn't melt rapidly I fell it's due to the thickness of the bag that keeps the temperature inside the bag cold, definetly if needed to buy again I would.

This is what I expected. When I ordered it I had no idea how well sealed the lid would be. On that score, I can tell you that it's sealed very well compared to a similar version I've had that's growing whiskers.

For the price of this ice bag I would rate it a good value. My application for it was my elbow and it provided very good coverage. Don't know about a knee.

Hope this helps someone ... Sam
