After reading the reviews, it seems like the people who had a problem with this product were using it on color treated hair. So full disclosure, my hair is not color treated AT ALL. The product worked great for me. I have medium brown hair with reddish undertones. In photos I find it looks dull and clashes with my skin, especially when I'm tan. It just makes me look washed out. So I decided to try this product. I applied it mainly to my roots although I did work it down to the ends, but the majority of the product was at the roots. I left it on for maybe 5-7 minutes. As I was applying it it did deposit dye on my hands, but as soon as I was done applying the product I simply washed my hands with my body lotion in the shower and it came right off. So it did not permanently stain my hands. The difference is subtle (my husband did not notice) but it was exactly what I wanted. I have bangs, and just the look of my bangs against my face is SO much better than before. They are a rich deep cool brown now and my skin really pops. My hair also looks shinier and healthier too! I highly recommend for anyone with medium to dark brown hair (NOT color treated) who is just looking to add depth and shine.
This product leaves my dry and coarse hair amazingly soft, and it doesn’t irritate my sensitive scalp. Gives a nice tone and it feels looks and feels like my hair is freshly dyed. It’s a very cool brown, so it’s perfect if you want to get rid of warm tones. A cool brown like this is hard to find in a permanent hair dye, so I will rather use this mask. Really a great product. NOTE: use gloves because the color pigment stains hands. Doesn’t stain the tub at all, just rinse off right away.
I have been looking a long time, for a product to take the brassy/red tones out of my cool brunette, colored hair. I was so pleasantly surprised that with the very first use, leaving it in only 8 minutes, it completely took those horrible tones out of my hair! My hair was shiny, soft and looking great. This is a wonderful product, and I will be using it and recommending it highly!
Beautiful color! My hair is a much deeper dark brown now that I have used this just one time. I am very happy I found this product, it deposits much more color than John Freida.

I am super happy with this product. I have a faded dark brown color over bleached blonde hair. Don't want to color it again. Its damaged and dry and I don't like the color - and there's a good bit of gray in there. Since I've used this type product before and i wanted more visible result, I did it differently than directions. (and yes i know that was risky but I've had green, purple, orange and burgundy hair - most not planned but... ) anyway, I washed my hair, no conditioner and dried it well. USING GLOVES, I applied the mask to my dry hair - ends first. I did have to spritz some water on it a few times to aid in even coverage on my dried hair. I put a plastic bag and a vinyl shower cap on over the mask and left it for an hour +... (Fell asleep,actually - had intended only for 30 minutes, but...) Then I rinsed it out with warm water and put nothing else on it. I let it dry on it's own. I was not only happy with the color results - gray is not covered but well camo'd - dark brown color is rich - no red or brassy tones at all - but my hair feels (still - 2 weeks later) so much more healthy - with shine and body. This is BY FAR the best color depositing product I've ever used and I've used several different types and brands off and on for 15 years... Smells nice and works well for me... I'm a repeat customer for sure.
This stuff is incredible. However, the coffee is seriously dark. Darker than I wanted, in fact. I left it on for about 5-7 minutes in the shower and my hair was almost black. But sooo shiny!! I'm staying lighter to medium brown these days, but am keeping this for if I decide to go super dark again. Hopefully it fades out soon. Seller had it in my mailbox in days. Completely satisfied customer here. I may try the chocolate next, but I'm worried it'll be a bit too warm. I hope they come out with a cooler brunette. So if you're looking to liven up black or seriously dark brown hair, TRY THIS IN COFFEE!!
I have been looking for a treatment product for my natural dark brown hair to bring back the softness in my hair and I found it in this product. It leaves my hair soft and full of life.
